Unintentional time travel

Sierra, a physician is on her way to Hawaii to see a former patient, Brooklyn a three year old. During some turbulence she hits her head and finds herself in bombed out Pearl Harbor as a nurse and immediately sets to using her medical training along with an army doctor. They save many lives including a General. During a break the doctor kisses her and she falls for him but then wakes up as her current flight is landing in Honolulu. Brooklyn's father meets her to take her to the hospital and he looks like the army doctor. Sierra is confused but finds out he is the grandson of the army doctor. There is even more supernatural things to happen making this a most heartwarming story. I loved it and i will continue reading this authors work because she can really tell a story.

I'm a sucker for a little girl. Especially one that's not annoying, and Brooklyn is a sweet, sick little one. Love her interactions with her father and Sierra. This story was fascinating to me. I know we all know about WWII but I appreciated the amount of detail Author McLean put in those scenes.

"Faded newspaper clippings and photographs, yellowed with age, showed the highlights of a lost generation."

I know this is ridiculous, but this story just seemed so realistic and relatable. Yes, its a paranormal short story, but the chemistry was so strong between ALL the characters that it seemed like something that could really happen. The ending made me smile hard.

I found this an excellent short read and can easily recommend it as a five star book. Sierra, the protagonist, is a surgeon of great skill. Embarking on a trip to Honolulu to treat a previous patient she enters a fracture in time and begins a journey of romance and discovery. The book moves at a steady to rapid pace and presents new information constantly. The time travel is managed in such a way that I found it refreshing, without the use of any strained mechanics to support it. The ending is well thought out and delivered. Unlike many short stories that are part of a series there is no apparent hook and this book stands on its own without wavering. It’s a great short read guaranteed to enthrall you for a couple of hours.

I have never been much for time travel reads however I have truly enjoyed the Destiny series. This author gives us several stories showing how destiny in one way or another steps in to right a wrong, change a life, bring together two souls. This is a well written story that uses a time in history to set two people on a path they hadn't expected. Love the characters and the little darling as well. I have truly enjoyed this authors way with words and the taping of my imagination.

Summary –

Heart surgeon Sierra Norton helps other people’s hearts, not realizing her own will soon undergo a life-altering event. She feels such a connection with a three-year-old patient, Brooklyn, yet she can’t explain it. When Brooklyn’s father calls Sierra three years later, she hops on a plane to Hawaii to assist. Lightning hits the plane Sierra is on and there’s a terrible plane crash. When Sierra awakens, she finds herself flung into the past. How did she time travel to Pearl Harbor? Her medical skills along with her courage guide her to save the life of a five-star general. Suddenly, destiny aligns, and Sierra must choose which man she truly loves. Will she follow her heart or her head?
