A Christmas to Fight For Kindle Edition
As the last of my kind, I’ve long lived in the shadows. But, with the death of my father, I have a dying wish to fulfill, and I can no longer keep quiet. I can no longer stand back and watch as the Santa Claus Organization takes everything from us. So, I launch an attack that was doomed from the start. I am but one krampus up against the cruelest organization in the world. I knew it was a long shot. I knew I would likely die.
Then something surprising happens. The most recent Santa Claus comes into my life, and I don’t know what to make of him. He wasn’t what I was expecting. He’s supposed to be a puppet. A heartless, despicable Santa. But he’s not. He’s … a good person?
Do I have things wrong? Have I had them wrong all along? Or am I falling for the biggest con in the world?
Either way, change is coming for North Pole, and this is sure to be the deadliest Christmas on record and a time that no one will ever forget.

Santas and elves and workshops and toys and sleighs and reindeer and… a krampus? YUP!
Ms. Frances did a fabulous job on this unique twist on a Christmas romance. It was entertaining, it was emotional, and it had meaningful messages woven throughout the pages. Perfect for the holiday season. Perfect for any season really.
After I read the blurb, I knew what the book was going to be about. I mean, I *knew*, but I didn’t KNOW, ya know? It was so remarkably different and adorable and it surprised me in all the best ways.
Enemies-to-lovers, check.
Sexy M/M goodness, light on the steam, but it’s in there. *sighs dreamily* Plenty of action that had me devouring it, needing to know everything that happens right now. Oh, the feels in this one. My heartstrings were pulled many times and I couldn’t have loved Claw & Caspar any harder.
Caspar, a Santa, named the new Santa Claus of the North Pole. He has such a beautiful, yet naive heart.
Claw is a krampus, the last of his kind. He wants to seek revenge on those who committed the slaying of his people, and he ends up shacked up with his worst enemy. But is he really an enemy?
I absolutely adored these guys together. What started out as an unfriendly, unwelcoming relationship, slowly and oh so beautifully grew into something charming and heartwarming. I loved every word and emotion.
Neither one trusted the other. It just couldn’t be possible, they were enemies from the start. But they needed to, they had to build that trust, if they wanted to succeed at removing any evil. Caspar’s innocence, his good heart, and his kind soul, is what convinces Claw to finally trust him.
Not only did this story have amazing and lovable main characters, but the story was equally awesome and addictive. I never wanted to put this story down.
I’m always amazed at the creativeness and talented mind of this author and A Christmas to Fight For is yet another I can add to my favorites from her.
Looking for something Christmassy and unusual and well-written and packed full of vivid descriptions to easily pull you into the pages? I highly recommend you take a chance on this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMan, I gotta say that the Santa's and elves are evil and thank goodness there are Krampuses. Wait, what is the plural form of Krampus? Krampii? I'm not sure.
Here we have Claw who is a Krampus and a freedom fighter against the evil Santa corporation and Cas the newly elected Santa who meet, fall in love, and save the North Pole.
I enjoyed this dark tale, yeah, this is not a happy one. But it did not pull me in like A Christmas to Die For. I did enjoy the Krampus tail though.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2021Format: KindleIf you need a wee break from sugary sweet, predictable holiday romances, then I’m going to highly recommend Jessica Frances’ A Christmas to Fight For. Don’t worry, of course there’s still a love story here, but this clever author blends it into an exciting, steampunk-esque, thrill ride - the likes of which you’ve never imagined. So get comfy, because once you start reading this one, you’re not going to be able to stop!
As the first out, gay Santa, Caspar has dedicated his life to being the best. Winning every competition where the Santa candidates compete, Caspar believes he has overcome the constant bigotry and prejudice. But he begins to question the dogma he’s been fed his whole life, when he is shaken up to learn he’s merely a pawn, and easily dismissed and forgotten.
Born into a world at war, Claw has grown up isolated from his race and trained endlessly to take down the evil Santa Claus Organization (SCO). As the last krampus, it’s his duty to overthrow the SCO, free the oppressed and enslaved workers, or die trying.
As Caspar and Claw uncover layer after layer of deceit and dirty dealings, these total opposites become allies, then friends, and eventually partners (in every sense of the word). I adore the way their walls slowly come down, and as they begin to trust each other, their mutual attraction can’t be ignored. The message is of accepting our differences: seeing past the social, economical, and physical layers that set us apart. This theme comes through perfectly in the romance between Caspar and Claw.
I’m not going to mince words here, this is a true battle for the ages, and not for the squeamish. But as the story evolves, and the plot thickens, it’s easy to accept Jessica Frances’ brand of violence, a true war between good and evil. Once the lines are clearly drawn, you’ll be cheering as every wicked elf meets his maker.
Jessica Frances hooked me last Christmas when I read A Christmas to Die For, another standalone holiday story based in the North Pole universe. Steeped in fantasy and magic, I’m captivated by how deeply Ms. Frances explores all the aspects of this unique world. Dare I hope for another tale next season? Fingers crossed because I’m addicted!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2021Format: KindleClaw is the last krampus. Compiler of the naughty list. Wanting nothing more than to bring down the Santa organization that destroyed his life.
Caspar is the newest Santa. Excited and naive. When his world is exploded and he is kidnapped by Claw, he has no idea his life is going to be totally upended.
A slow burn romance with some bloodshed thrown in to keep it interesting. I loved Claw and Caspar’s love story.
A well rounded, complete, totally different take on the Santa legend. I definitely don’t equate Santa with blood but there was plenty of it here.
This author seldom disappoints and this story was excellent.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2021Format: KindleI've only read a few books about Krampuses so I wasn't sure what to expect.I was pleasantly surprised!
I loved the characters and the uniquess of both characters and story.
It was suspenseful, and had a slow burn romance.
There Is a lot of action and twists as well. The story is emotional and I will admit to a tear or two so you may want a tissue.
If you like a twist on the tale of Santa, Krampus, and an amazing enemy to lover story you must read this. It is totally amazing!
