Nigel May has written and published eight novels so far crossing various different genres. He is an all-rounder in the entertainment world working as an author, TV and radio host.

He has hosted on the UK's leading craft TV channel, Create And Craft TV, for many years and has established himself as a firm viewer favourite. On radio he hosts a weekly national radio show on Gaydio called Wrapping Up The Weekend interviewing celebrities from around the world.

His six page-turning glam fiction novels have all been published by Bookouture. As a glam fiction author he has been described as "the UK's male Jackie Collins" and "the readers' Viagra".

His first glam fiction novel was TRINITY, an action-packed blockbuster (or bonkbuster) about the lives of the rich and famous and three young women at the heart of it. Glamour, beauty, fame and celebrity mix with murder, intrigue and danger to create an explosive novel which gained incredible reviews and fans across the globe.

The glitz-meets-grit whodunit ADDICTED was another huge success and once again dived into the diamond-dipped world of the mega-rich as four women face their demons. But all of the money and celebrity fame in the world do not guarantee a happy ending. Especially for one of them...

SCANDALOUS LIES is steeped in secrets, sin, sex and scandal and takes readers around the world as a mysterious celebrity disappearance is investigated. Will weathergirl Georgia be able to find out what is behind her best friend's inexplicable vanishing before it's too late?

Spicy crime on overload for DEADLY OBSESSION, a gritty and glamorous psychological tale set in gangland Manchester that is dynamic and thrilling in all areas to the very last page. When Amy sees her husband gunned down at their nightclub, The Kitty Kat Club, she faces life as a young widow. But then six months later, a letter arrives from beyond the grave...

LOVERS AND LIARS is a truly tropical burst of storytelling where money and sex go hand in hand with murder. When Millionaire playboy Sheridan Rivers is found dead at his luxurious hotel on the paradise island of Barbados, there are several suspects in the frame. But who delivered the fatal blow?

Completing his sexy six-pack, REVENGE is a total page-turner. In the South of France, playground of the rich and famous, world renowned chef Dexter Franklin is organising a night to remember. As he opens the doors to his exclusive restaurant for the first time, he’s handpicked a list of guests, as hot and dazzling as the St Tropez sun itself. Three women have a past with Dexter and a grudge to bear against him. As fireworks ignite in the jet set capital of Europe, there’s murder on the menu. Who will be served their just desserts?

He has also written a psychological thriller called THE GIRL UNKNOWN. It's the story of Lucie Palmer, a girl attempting to rebuild her life, one that she has long believed to be cursed. To finally piece together the emptiness in her existence before it's too late. But it would appear that something or someone is determined to stop her for good.

His first cosy crime novel is called QUILLING ME SOFTLY, a mystery based around a craft group set in a sleepy English village. When one of the locals is found dead, at first everyone assumes it is down to old age. Everyone, that is, except Violet Brewer, owner of the village wool shop, Brewer's Loop, who is certain that murder is on the cards.

His glam fiction books have been Amazon best sellers and chart toppers, read by celebrities and fellow authors alike, and have proved that a man can successfully write in a 'glam fiction bonkbuster world' that has always been a strongly female domain.

Nigel was also the only male writer amongst 44 authors featured in the chart-topping, beach-read anthology of short-stories SUNLOUNGER. He also contributed a short story to SUNLOUNGER 2.

He regularly presents on UK TV and has featured on Channel 4, C5, ITV and broadcast live from America. He is also one of the UK's most popular craft personalities, having launched his own successful range, A-May-Zing and was named Male Crafting Personality in the Crafts Beautiful Awards.

As a showbiz writer he has written for many of the UK's most successful magazines and newspapers, specialising in showbiz and celebrity, as well as writing on subjects ranging from relationships through to exotic travel.

He lives in Brighton and his hobbies include theatre, keep fit, Eurovision, the '80s, retro soap opera, flea markets and flaunting the body positive.

It was a good read, lively characters and some good twists. I was left with a sour taste in my mouth however when it came to one of the heroines. It seemed like the whole world turned on her at the last moment, which was an unnecessarily forlorn situation, especially when you realize she did little to deserve it.
It is my personal take on the story, but that does not take away from it being a good read. But it is the main reason i didn't score it top marks.

It kept my interest and I wanted to read what would happen next with each of the characters. There were a lot of characters mentioned along with their backgrounds that you had to keep track of, but in the end they all knew each other somehow! The length of it was just right. Entertaining!

Okay, I have to give this book one star, just because it has some of the worst writing I've ever seen in any genre, and I hated almost all the main characters. But in a way I don't feel good about doing a one-star review, because I've never seen anything like ADDICTED.

I loved the way all four heroines were always getting in hot water, and how the sex came fast and furious in almost every chapter. The one character I loved most was Lauren, who starts out as a very sweet and shy politician's wife (her only friend is her dog) but who soon discovers sex and drugs and becomes a rising starlet in the music industry. The one character I hated most was Nancy, a compulsive gambler and a thief who will betray anyone, any time, for any reason. God, I hated Nancy! Then there was Portia, the diva, who was nice enough but I hate classical music so I was always cheering whenever something bad happened to her. The last of the four sexy heroines was Martha, the rich South African girl. I liked Martha a lot, but I wanted more scenes like where she sleeps with one of the native men who works in her vineyard, and less of the jet set stuff.

So what was fun was how all four of them made mistakes, and weren't perfect all the time. I loved watching them get in trouble, and back stab each other, and lie. But after a while, it went from being trashy and fun to being trashy and depressing. And the language didn't help. I mean, Nigel May writes the worst English I have ever seen. It's almost impossible to describe!

"Nancy's brain was pulsating as revenge rose up and burst the buttons of her tight-knit smile." What?

"Dale watched the girl gyrate, lust generating an army of trembling desires that whirled like stilettos in the soft flesh of his groin." Huh?

"Martha's jealous fury was like a thousand Muslim terrorist driving pickup trucks loaded with explosives into the American embassy of her outraged ego." No, that actually made sense!

You cannot imagine what this book is like until you read it. And once you do, you will never forget it. So is it really a one star review?

I don't love writing poor reviews, so I'm going to give this one a disclaimer: I really, really enjoyed his first book, Trinity. It was fun, and with that spirit I was eager to pick up this one. Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book. At all.

I found the characters ALL unlikable. There were no heroines and no character that was relatable. In fact, they were all so downright vicious through the whole thing that I started getting really irritated. I enjoy the antics of Jackie Collins books and the like, so it isn't that I just don't like the genre because I do! These characters just didn't have an ounce of likability.

One female character is a sex addict who has sex on the hood of cars while groups of people watch then she steals her friend's husband. And this is just an example of the kind of women in the book; I didn't like them, I didn't care about them and I wasn't pulling for any of them to overcome their addiction. This book left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb read!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 11, 2015
"Addicted weaves a tale of mystery from the first page and keeps the suspense ramped up right the way through the entire novel. It's a cracking read about four women - all of them seem to have so much to offer in life, but in fact they are all riddled with demons about the pressures of their own existences. Thus they become addicted to various things. In the opening chapter we learn that one of them is dead and that one is the killer, but who is who is a complete mystery. The reader is invited to a funeral and becomes gripped from the first word. From then on in Addicted is a whirlwind of action with the four women (the storyline then takes place in the lead up to the funeral) all taking the reader on a fantastic journey full of glamour, relationships, exotic travel around the world and of course a whole lot of betrayal and bitching. They are all strong women but all have their demons and it is that quality that makes them all human and believable. Both endearing and outrageous. Addicted is a total page turner and the entwining storylines are fast-paced and cleverly linked. You find yourself flicking to the next page to try and find out who is linked to who and how. Addicted is fun, flirty, fabulously rich and a decadently delicious read. It has so much going on that even when you're not reading it you can't help but think 'I wonder what's going to happen next...'. I loved it and would recommend it to everyone. It's a great holiday read or perfect for curling up with in bed at night. It's like Jackie Collins but with a UK edge. Wicked fun. And the ending was superb! I want more and will definitely read more from the author."

I loved Trinity and I generally love Nigel's way with words so I had high expectations for this book. Generally I enjoyed it: the sex scenes were well written, appropriate in length and frequency and not cringe-worthy in their description. The interconnecting plots were engaging and as usual, Nigel's description of locations is wonderfully visual. Before I go any further, firstly let me make it clear that this is a very enjoyable bonkbuster and secondly, there may be some spoilers in the next part! I promise honest reviews and whilst I adore Mr May in all his persona's, I am not going to just gush about his book if I don't mean it. So there were a couple of minor niggles for me. Firstly, the main characters Lauren, Martha and Kelly are all great friends one moment and the next Martha hates Lauren and has no hesitation in taking her husband. Whilst I know that women do this to each other, it just felt a little forced as to the level of hate Martha suddenly had for Lauren. I also struggled with Saul and Martha. Possibly because I don't believe in love at first sight and certainly don't believe in sex so amazing you fall for someone hook, line and sinker, I found their sudden love for each other after basically one flagellation and one shag, a little hard to comprehend! A little more development of their romance before they decided they were meant for each other would have sat better with me but this might be me rather than the book! These are however minor niggles and did not prevent me from enjoying this book at all - not quite as much as Trinity - but still very good and well worth reading.

This author is clearly skilled and has penned a page-turning pacey novel, but at times the speed meant (for me) that there was a lack of depth to the characters which just stopped me caring about their outcomes - which is a shame, because some of the characters were great pastiches. Also, the whodunnit element didn't really work for me. It IS definitely worth a read though, for the price.
