- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2022And I can't tell you what I mean because that would be a spoiler, and I don't do those. This book was captivating, nerve wracking, nail biting suspense! And I loved it. I have read many novels with this main plot, but none that were so good. When you take a main character into it the way it was done here, well you can't help but be invested! And now, there are only 2!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2020Fun quick read.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2020I found this to be a very suspense filled, absorbing and entertaining mystery. I always enjoy Rebecca Bradley's stories. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves English detective mysteries.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2020I loved the mystery but I also enjoyed how the team came together to help Hannah out of a tight situation. Hannah always thinks of everyone before herself, this time her team was there for her when she needed them most. I don't want to say anything about the plot becaused I don't want to spoil any part of the story. I can say that the book is exellent and you won't regret reading it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2020This was a really enjoyable book. I like this character best out of all Rebecca's characters. The plot was intriguing and keep me reading. I think I read this book in about a day. Highly recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020This one good the reader right away. I was glad to read another DI Hannah Robbins novel. This one is a particularly tough case involving a number of twists and turns. It is well written and if you aren't a Hannah Robbins fan, you'll be one by the time you're finished with the novel.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2020The police work in the book is spot on but in the first half of it there were really only two things that happened that warranted being eager to get to the next chapter. So much of the first half of the book was interview after interview, the same people, the same questions. It made for pretty tedious reading at times. The ending packed a lot more punch but overall I had to work to finish this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2020While I like this series, this book didn't do it for me. It dragged and I found myself skipping paragraphs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read
A young man ran into the road right in the line of Hannah's car. She braked hard but it was too late to miss the young man. The young man recovered but it left him with memory loss. Little did Hannah know that this young man was going to be the beginning of a long case that would be hard to unravel.
This story had me on tenterhooks.
Looking forward in reading the next in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Abrupt ending ... perhaps it links to the next book?
A cult makes for a good scene of coverups and murder. A good read. Hannah is almost done for ...but she has a good team.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best so far
I have enjoyed all the Hannah Robbins series and getting to know her and her team but this one really got under my skin. I think it was because it was different to the usual police procedural books in that there was no body and the reader wasn't sure if a murder had taken place.
We were taken along with the same questions to ask as Hannah and when she became the "victim" It became really gripping.
I don't want to say anymore and spoil the book for others so please read and enjoy.
Well done Rebecca i can't wait for the next instalment to find out what happens to Hannah and Zoe.
Also a quick thank you to all the wonderful writers out there providing an escape in these trying times.
