    I got through Book 6 before I gave up. Too many characters, both alive and dead. Too many events to remember, house numbers to remember, every maid's name to remember. The author has written 9 books of this series and it only covers like11 years.

    I'm certain there was a plot
    Line in this story....somewhere but I fail!ed to see it. The book was slow going with the huge number of characters(most of which had 2 or more names that were used) and, most of which were quite forgettable. Some I still don't know who they were.; and the use of numbers when referring to households as opposed to simply stating "will & Isobel's House" or "Will's parents' home"... Kind of ditzy. Sorry can't recommend this one

    This book, even with all the trials and tribulations of the families, got very boring. Too many repeated lines of hanging up the hats and coats, of going to the next numbered house, of minute details.
