A Life For Riley (Sweetest Love Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

I'm a sceptic. Plain and simple. Growing up in a home where the words 'I love you' mean nothing and vows are broken almost as soon as they were made. I’m hardened… Because life is brutal, it fookin’ sucks. Then there’s him, he may just prove this sceptic wrong. This book is intended for mature viewers of 18+. Strong language, some violence and explicit sexual situations throughout.

What happens when you work to avoid your home in order to save to leave it? To avoid whatever threat that life may throw your way? You get the life of Riley. A very touching story. Jace pulls Riley to him and it's all about those eyes, she is lost. However, Riley has to navigate her world while Jace wants her in his. Can she learn to trust Jace, trust his family and learn what love means? SJ Batsford will answer these questions in this enticing story. Her stories are very relatable on so many levels and this one certainly did not disappoint me. I was captivated by the chemistry and the pull between Riley and Jace. I guarantee you'll love it. This is my honest review for a book I volunteered to read. But you know I will one click it anyways

This is a great story about new love and family. When Jase asks Riley out, she turns him down. All she is focused on is finishing school and getting away from her dysfunctional home life. When Jase helps Riley out of a bad situation she second guesses herself on turning him down. Not only does a new love begin to bloom but Riley finds out that you may not be able to pick the family you’re born into but that doesn’t mean you cannot experience what having a loving, caring family is like.

Just break my heart why don't you. This author has been silently planning our emotional demise with this book and it's an awesome way to remind us why we love her books. My heart broke for Riley ad all she dealt with in her young years. But when he steps into her life changing everything she thought was true she dare not breathe with all of the hope that now is awakened. When she goes from being unloved and unwanted to vital and appreciated her entire being shifts. I love these two individually and as a couple. Him for reviving her and giving her safety and purpose. Her for her strength and tenacity, and she's no wimp either. What defines a family? Is it because they birthed you or is it simply defined by those who love and support you whether they are the same depends on you. In Riley's case her ability to love and live and do it in safety is what helped her define it for herself. Glad this author is back to remind us just how good it is when she is behind it.

Great read from the 1st page! The chemistry between Jace and Riley is smokin hot! I can only hope another book is to follow!

Sweetest love is right.....Jace is a dream. Loved his whole family.
Riley's on the other hand was pieces of crap. Just NO words. Her dad might have a few redeeming qualities of at least he will if he keeps in contact with her.
Besides all the bad that happens in this book the good far outweighs it.
    Enjoyable book. I recommend!

Riley is a young girl with 3 things on her mind, staying safe around her brother’s friend, finishing school, and getting out of a dysfunctional house.

She meets Jace, and he asks her out, Riley isn’t looking for a boyfriend at all and turns him down. When he helps her with one of those goals, she second guesses herself. He shows her what love, stability, and family can be away from her toxic home.

SJ Batsford has given us a well written story, with characters you instantly feel for, and some you instantly hate!

I really enjoyed Riley's story so far. There are heartbreaking times that Riley has had to deal with. What happens when a nice hot young guy comes around, can he help Riley heal. I can't wait to see how the resr of the story pans out.

This is a beautiful story of a girl who's life is difficult and without much love, only to find a boy who has an abundance of it. He shows her how beautiful she is and how she should be treated, earning her trust and later her love.
