About the author

Toby Wise is a stay at home parent who hails from a tiny town in Wisconsin. Contrary to popular Wisconsin stereotypes, he’s not a cheese-head who loves football but rather an introvert who spends all his time on the internet, drinking coffee, spending time with his kid, and cooing about his adorable cat, Pikachu.
In April of 2019, A Collection of Strays was born after the world of fanfiction drew him back into his love of writing. Now he’s writing all things omegaverse as long as it includes silly moments and found family.

Low angst
Arranged marriage
Forced proximity
Mpreg without the details
Medium burn/ steamy
Sweet men
Fantasy- save the world trope
I really enjoyed this short story. It took me a few hours to read between tasks but it was captivating and kept me smiling while I was able to indulge on this snowy day. The story alternates between the POVs of both men with each chapter. The dual POVs show us just how sweet both men are and how easily they become enamored with one another once they actually get to know each other- they apparently spent 6 months avoiding one another before the wedding. There's very little to no angst in this story and the arranged marriage isn't one of anger or force. Neither man seems 100% thrilled at the beginning but neither fights it--- more like the apprehension of marrying a stranger lends to uncertainty of the future rather than any ill regard towards the other man or King. The author tries to paint a brief picture of "enemies to lovers" but both men are just way too sweet for that (plus the story is too short to work in some moody scenes). The plot uses the old "save the world" trope and utilizes forced proximity to build a relationship when the men are thrown into a journey across the human realm to close rifts that are opening between planes. I enjoyed the adventure and the building of the relationship very much. The epilogue was very "aww" and tied everything together nicely. I highly recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2022Although a fairly short, A Magical Arrangement was an enjoyable read about a marriage of convenience between a fae and a human, trying to save both either realms.
It's a light enemy to lovers story, with enough magic to keep me entertained.
The MCs were likeable and once Ash got over himself, the friendship and romance between them was sweet.
It's fairly fast paced, but the worldbuilding was perfect for the pace of the story.
* what I did not know going in, was this was a mpreg story, but this does not detract from the story *
If you are looking for a low angst, quick, magical read, this book may be to your liking.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2022I enjoyed the idea of this story, but the execution fell flat for me as a reader. This is a short read at only 34k words so I didn’t expect a lot of character development, but both MCs were very one dimensional. Caspian is trying to save his home realm by closing rifts in the human realm (which isn’t really explained why or how their connected) then he’s marrying the prince of the human kingdom to form an alliance (again, why?). Next thing we know, they’re going out to close the rifts, which, ok if that’s why you’re there that’s great, but why did it take a year and a wedding to do it?
The story is mpreg, but it’s not explained at all until Caspian is pregnant. Maybe this world is introduced in other books by this author, but was confusing for me as a new reader.
Ash is totally flat and seems to have no direction or motivation through most of the story.
The angst was too much for me. Each MC sort of disliked the other, but sort of had a crush too, then they’re married and “trying to keep each other at a distance”. The excuses and lack of conversation bothered me a lot. They’d overcome one excuse and another would pop up. When they did finally consummate their marriage I didn’t really feel any connection between them. Then we discover Caspian is pregnant which he didn’t even talk to Ash about that being a possibility.
I don’t know, the story was just not my cup of tea I guess. And there were parts where the word choices are phrasing was awkward.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2022First impressions aren't the best for this couple but as they go on their journey to save both realms impressions change. The only thing I wasn't quite happy about was that at the beginning there is a significant amount of time between when they first meet and their wedding where the relationship seems stagnant. However the pace picks up after that and becomes a very engaging story with great side characters and a love built on mutual respect. I very much enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2022This book was a winner for me. I loved the concept of Caspian finding his way in the human world and Ash learning the good of Fae. Though these two started as enemies they eventually formed a connection and happiness. The magic was amazing and finding a way to b fix what was broken worked. I loved the adventure line behind this. The book had a perfect blend of romance fantasy and adventure. I sat it's worth it to check out Caspian and Ash and their blend of happiness and adventure. I find myself hoping to see more like this from this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2022A magical book from a new to me author. Caspian leaves his home in the fae realm to stop the darkness trying to destroy the fae and human realms. Ash is a human prince that is Leary of the fae and magic because of tales he heard all his life. Ash and Caspian go on a quest together to stop the darkness and find much more than they ever expected. Sweet and whimsical story that was a great read.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different from this author but SO AWESOME!!!
Contains: Fae and humans, an arrange wedding, worlds to save, demon to kill, mpreg.
This is quite differente style from this author but oh so much captivating. The caracters are adorable, very determined and try to learn each other more even on difficult situation. This will be very effective for them. The author describe very well the scene and in my head I'm imagining Zelda world, (you know, kinda :old time, with exact location to go, with no technology, no weapon except sword and a few spell to help the search) IT'S PERFECT!!!! I would have enjoye a little bit more of them tho. Especially at the end, their return to their families, the surprise father, the joy of the fae when their prince return home after 1 year with a new husband as extra package!!

4.0 out of 5 stars mm fantasy story
I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters but I did feel that the fantasy part was a bit lacking. There were a few times that I was drawn out of the story by questions like “why are they walking? Don’t they have horses?” but maybe that’s just me. As I said I really enjoyed the way that the relationship is written. They aren’t really enemies just indifferent to each other in the beginning as they are thrown together and have to go out adventuring.
