TESTIMONIALS:
“This adventurous story about the
True Meaning of Family proves that family isn’t confined by a set of rules but by the ability to love someone, to see similarities despite obvious differences, and to take someone on who might not be your own.” Prof. S. Keller, Lecturer at the University of Graz.

"This is
A Story The World Needs! With rhythm and rhyme and a catchy refrain, we follow the struggle of a little egg as it tries to find its forever home. The egg is met with love and kindness at every turn, but outside circumstances keep sending the egg away. The story acknowledges "How unfair!" it is for the egg to think it has found its new home, but then the new home doesn't work out. But just because this family doesn't work out, doesn't mean that none will... A Story Of Hope to children who might be going through the Adoption Or Foster Care system. Beautiful illustrations add their own page-turning spice as the reader tries to guess what will happen next." Britt Powitz, Early Childhood Educator, Author, and Musician.

“A wonderfully evocative belonging book about
Finding Your Place In The World even when your world has been turned upside down.” Kym D. Wimbis, Author of the Lucky Duck Books.

A Poetic Testament To The Love Between A Parent And A Child, even if they aren’t biologically related. As a nursery teacher, this book helps me to teach children that there are many forms of family and that what matters is LOVE and devotion. The storyline is heartwarming, the rhymes flow smoothly, and the illustrations are whimsical.” Sarah Harris, Preschool Child Care Practitioner.

Finding A HOME Where You Are
This is a wonderfully well-written book with fabulous photos children will adore. When an egg finds itself out of time, where does it belong? We read a heartfelt journey of how the egg roams from home to home to find a perfect place to belong. The story opens many topics of discussion with children and also leaves kids feeling warmth and compassion. I recommend this book to all young children.

I read a LOT of picture books, and this one will stand the test of time. I am so in love with Svitlana's illustrations, especially the shadows that hint at the next animal (fun for children to make guesses) and all of the cute animal faces! I LOVE Jana's rhymes, repeating lines, story concept, unconditional love theme... everything! Plus there is a super cool trailer and bonus activity sheets.

You definitely need this book in your home library.

This book is incredibly well written, the rhymes flow perfectly, and the illustrations and design are all so well done. I admire the storyline the author tackled. This is a perfect book for adults to read to little one's who are trying to figure out where they belong in society. I think it would be a wonderful addition to read to those in the foster community or those who have just been adopted. Sometimes our journey to find home takes a while, but with patience, we will eventually find something that gives us that comfort, even if it's untraditional (like a lion caring for a dinosaur). I'd highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Family comes in all shapes and sizes

My children were captivated by this book - and I have to admit so was I. The story is just wonderful and really brings home that family comes in all different shapes and sizes and that what makes a home is the people you share it with. This book was just perfect for my 4-year-old and has been the requested bedtime story for the past two nights now. My 6-year-old’s only complaint was that there weren’t enough T-rexes in it! As the one doing the reading I can vouch for the heart-warming message this book has and the illustrations are gorgeous. So pleased we have this in our library.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Such a fabulous read-aloud!
Reviewed in Canada on December 23, 2020
Have you ever read a picture book out loud that just rolled off of your tongue so easily making you sound like a voiceover professional? Well, that’s how I felt reading this book. The author does a wonderful job of providing a fabulous rhyme and meter. On top of that, the illustrations are attention-grabbing. I read the book to my niece via video call. You never really know how a video call read-aloud is going to go with a 5-year-old, but she was hooked! She was engaged in the story and enamored by the illustrations. We took time to talk about volcanoes, birds that don’t fly, and of course the love of family, blood or chosen. I'm a Montessori elementary teacher and I highly recommend this picture book!
