Rose has read her way through countless romances over the years, “borrowing” them from her older sisters, and hiding them from her mother (Mom didn't like the sexy book covers!)

She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her. She loves a happy ever after! Now she is happy to bring this passion to her stories and share it with her readers.

On a personal note, Rose lives in North Carolina, is married, and has a terrier that barks too much. She enjoys taking him for walks to tire him out!

A Past to Forget, book 5 in Rose Pearson's Convenient Arrangements series, is further proof that Rose can deliver on her promise to provide novels that allow a reader to escape into Regency England, with a guaranteed happily ever after ending.

I have come to love Lady Newfield, who appears like a fairy godmother in all the books so far. Her standing with society as well as years of wisdom and experience, allows her to face up to the fool's amongst the nobility who think to prey on the vulnerable. Her no nonsense approach to the ton and their frivolous lifestyle is refreshing. Lady Newfield's witty comebacks had me giggling aloud frequently. She is a wonderfully created and well-developed supporting character.

The main characters in A Past to Forget, develop slowly as the story progresses, much like you would expect to happen in real life. Both Ellen and Leonard gain courage and strength as their love for each other develops. The difficulties they encounter as Ellen and Leonard become more involved seem at first to be insurmountable. The drama and mystery add to the suspense you feel as a reader. I sat forward in my seat and held my breath as Ellen tried to find the evidence to save Leonard from his evil-ex.

Rose Pearson's A Past to Forget, is an easy-to-read, entertaining romp through England's past. It is perfect for cold, rainy afternoons when you are stuck indoors. A Past to Forget will allow you to escape for a time to a different world and a different time for a short interlude. And when you are done you will return to reality, refreshed and ready to tackle whatever life throws at you!

    Well done, Rose Pearson!

It was a lovely story. Ellen is an intelligent and interesting woman who finds herself capable of handling crisis and finding solutions. Her love story with Leonard is sweet and clean. There is mystery and intrigue. The villainous lady is evil and manipulative. However, Ellen and Leonard extricate themselves from her clutches with some help from friends. It all ends well for Ellen and Leonard and they have a happy future together.

This is a clean story with only a few kisses. Also, it ends at the 83% mark, rest excerpt for another book. It is short for even a novella but I still felt a connection to the couple.

I found this enjoyable and not only enjoyed the main character's but also the secondary character's. I liked how we learn the reason why he broke the h's heart. He truly thought he was protecting her. There is one very nasty villain who does get what is coming to her.

The h comes up with a plan to protect the H. It was the one thing I didn't like about the story because the plan was the only thing to save the H. I couldn't get over neither the H nor his best friend figured it out - lol.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance and clean. I recommend this story and author. (ljb)

Ellen's father was in need of funds and found his daughter to be plain, so found someone willing to court her in order that she might be cared for if his plans for additional funds did not work out. Ellen was afraid it would be to some old man and sadly agreed to meet with this new "suitor" to please her father. And to her surprise they hit it off right away! Leonard, her suitor, did not find Ellen plain at all and all went well with the betrothal until a woman out of Leonard's past came to haunt him. You will have to read the book yourself to find out what happened. It will be worth it, I assure you.

A very unusual plot with twists and turn and a female with diabolical plans! One wonders though why men can be so clueless!

I can imagine the ragged fingernails of all those who "scratched" at doors throughout the book. The story was all right, but needed to be edited down a bit more. I was able to skim and still get the full gist of the story.

Rose Pearson writes fluently and outlines intriguing situations which seem almost insoluble. By courage and stealth and help from friends, interesting resolutions can be found.

3.0 out of 5 stars An engagement ends due to blackmail

A gentle romance which has a dark thread. Storyline is interesting, the romance is interrupted by past events and a widow with intent to marry again.

I found the writing style a little heavy going at times. The characters are a mixed bunch, couple feisty ladies, a hero that is a little less so, but he is a gentleman in trouble.
