Peaceful Pilgrims Series, Book 5: A Perfect Match (Peaceful Pilgrims Contemporary Romance Series) Kindle Edition
At nearly 40, Dante Robinson has never been in a relationship that wasn't more than a one-night stand. His nephew, a college student, living in the upstairs apartment of his garage reveals that, on a lark, he and his friend started an online dating company, Perfect Match. Dante insists he shut it down...until the kid offers to hook him up with a "naughty librarian".
Lena Young has worked two jobs since she was in high school. She's 30 and raises the daughter of her abusive older brother, a truck driver, as if she's her own. When her friend convinced her to sign up for Perfect Match, she couldn't get herself to go through it...until Dante responds to her profile.
Developing a major crush on her brother's best friend hadn't been difficult when Lena was a sheltered girl, but Dante hasn't been back to their house in 16 years. After she agrees to meet him without telling him who she is, she discovers he only invited her over to his house to get laid. She's mortified but, when an equally humiliated Dante comes to the truck stop diner she works on the weekends and apologizes, begging her to forgive him, she can't turn him away. Wanting to tell him to hit the road, she instead finds herself believing him, championing his determination to become a better man...convinced that, with him, she could have one thing in her life that brings her the kind of joy she's always dreamed of but has never considered possible.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2019Forty year old Dante Robinson has never been in love or had a serious relationship. When he learns his nephew, Shea, and a friend has started an online dating service, Perfect Match, Dante insists they shut it down. Yet when Shea offers to hook him up with a “naughty librarian” Dante relents and accepts.
Lena Young works two jobs, is trying to get her Masters, and has been raising the daughter of her abusive older brother, Rich, for sixteen years. Rick is a long haul truck driver and cares nothing for Lena or Neve; however, he considers both of them to be his property. When Lena hears that Neve had signed her up on a dating site, Lena is humiliated and wants only for her profile to be deleted. But Dante has already responded to it. Lena had a huge crush on Dante sixteen years ago – back when he and Rick had been friends. (Rick had thrown Dante out of their lives when Dante stopped Rick from killing someone.) The temptation to meet Dante again is irresistible and Lena agrees to see him.
Since Lena’s profile had a phony name on it, Dante has no idea that it is Lena. She has changed quite a bit. When Lena learns that Dante only invited her over to his house to get laid, she is mortified and leaves. An equally humiliated Dante comes to the truck stop diner she works on the weekends to apologize, begs her to forgive him and to give him one more chance. She agrees.
Dante quickly sees that Lena and Neve’s lives had not gotten better in the last sixteen years. In fact, things have worsened. They know that when Rick hears Lena and Dante are dating, he will go into a murderous rage – literally. This time; however, Dante is not going quietly out of Lena’s life. The pair will fight not only for a chance at real happiness, but to protect Neve at all costs.
***** FIVE STARS! This story is outstanding. The time flew by as I read, hardly coming up for air. The town of Peaceful is not an existing one. If it were, I would be tempted to move there. It is a small modern-day community with old-fashioned values. (Both the Family and Friendship Heirlooms series’ are set there too.) This particular series, Peaceful Pilgrim, is in no certain order. This means readers do not need to worry about which title to read first. Just pick up a title and enjoy.
Characters by Karen Wiesner seem to come alive. I came to care for several of them, especially Lena and Neve. I hated Rick instantly. Wiesner has given him a past that shows how deadly he can be. I found myself actually worried for Lena and Neve – fictional characters. A part of me had becomes invested in their plight. I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this story. Fantastic! *****

- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020My gosh, I could hardly put this book down! After using his nephew’s newly created online dating service, Dante made me proud for not giving up in humiliated defeat after his juvenile attempt to hook up with a naughty librarian. At the age of 40, Dante’s had enough of his own Don Juan antics and the unsatisfying one-night-stands. He quickly realizes he wants to settle down with Lena, but her abusive brother and his ex-best friend keeps an insanely close eye on her whenever he’s in town. Lena has raised Rick's daughter as her own since she was a baby. Neve is 16 and Lena worries about Rick’s control over her as well. Even after she graduates, how will she break free of his hold, since Lena’s never been able to herself? I found myself rooting for Dante and Lena and Neve to get the happily ever after they
