Teagan Hunter strikes again with this all new series that had me laughing and swooning from start to finish! A Pizza My Heart tells the story of a brother's best friend / friends to lovers romance involving Wren and Foster. Growing up together, Wren had always seen Foster as her brothers best friend and her own personal confidant. However, things changed when Foster takes off and moves across the country and gets married. Back in town after four years and a nasty divorce, Foster is determined to get Wren to see what was right in front of her all along; but can pizza and time make the heart grow fonder?
I can't begin to tell you how much I adored this new freshman novel of Teagans; from the first page I was greeted by Hunter's signature snark and comedic genius that had me instantly pulled into the lives of our characters. Binged in one sitting, A Pizza My Heart catapults you into the story with Wren's perspective which by three pages in, I was head over heels invested and connected with her--relatable, independent, unique, and family oriented, there was nothing she wouldn't do for her family and those she considers her friends. I absolutely love Wren as she didn't care what others thought of her and did her damn best to help her family all the while chasing her dream of owning her own salon.
Now, Foster is the hero that had me swooning from the moment Wren realized he was back in town. The chemistry between both Wren and Foster was out of this world, and I loved how easily they slipped back into how things were between them pre-move without Wren all together brushing away the emotions that his actions caused her to have all those years ago.
Inspired by the Marine's (Teagan Hunter's husband) friend, Foster is given a unique personality that I haven't seen yet from her and one that had me captivated too instantly. I found his relationship with not only Wren, but with her brother and father to be one of my favorite parts of the novel, as it felt like one big family--making his and Wren's relationship feel that much deeper and stronger than what I had originally anticipated.
I do have to note that this novel is a super slow angst, barely any drama type of book--a good ol' hallmark love story. Usually this would bother me as I love me some drama, however, I didn't mind it at all as I was reading--maybe because I knew going in there wasn't going to be any, or because I was in the mood for just this kind of novel. Not once did the lack of a major conflict bother me as I was invested in watching this relationship bud. This novel could almost be considered a slow burn, but because of it's length I wouldn't classify it as one as I kind of wish the chase to changing Wren's heart was dragged out a little bit longer.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this one and probably will be re-reading this again over the weekend as I've already begun re-reading my favorite scenes! Sexy, light hearted, and fun, A Pizza My Heart is a romantic comedy that will have you smiling from ear to ear and wishing you could have your own little slice of love. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a super quick romcom that is low on the angst and high on the chemistry.

Whether you want it or not, you have a piece of my heart, and I don’t want it back.” This was my first Teagan Hunter novel, but it definitely will not be my last. A Pizza My Heart was an adorable romcom with a sweet slow burn, just the way I like my romances. Foster and Wren were the best of friends, until Foster moved away with no explanation at all and leaves Wren heartbroken. Now Foster is back and Wren wants answers, little does she know that trying to find these answers will lead her to the love of her life. Wren Daniels was hilarious! She was a witty, energetic character who could care less about what people think about her. I loved how she was always super passionate about the things that made her happy. She’s such a warm hearted character. Her love for her friends and family was never ending and I loved that about her - how she was always willing to go the extra mile to help her father out at the pizzeria. This aspect of her personality made it easy to understand how hurt she was when Foster moved away. Foster Marlett was super adorable. After making some poor choices regarding his love life he ends up divorced and back in the town where he grew up. The town where he left his first love, Wren (though she doesn’t know that), and he has decided he will do everything he can to make her realize they are meant to be together. Foster’s character was wonderful, he was funny and charming. I loved his little quirks which made his character super relatable and real. There were so many laugh out loud moments and the chemistry between Foster and Wren was off the charts. These two had my heart from page one and then it was all pure feels throughout the story. I was rooting for them from the start, just waiting on pins and needles for them to get together. “ ‘You don’t have a piece of my heart anymore, Foster.’ ‘No?’ ‘No. You have the whole damn thing.’ ‘Good, because a slice of it was never going to be enough.’ ” I highly recommend this wonderful, laugh out loud romance.
