A Riverdale Christmas (The Riverdale Pony Stories Book 9) Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 190 ratings

Christmas is coming and life at Riverdale is as action-packed as ever.

Poppy’s school is holding tryouts for its first ever showjumping team, and she and her best friend Scarlett are determined to be picked.

But competition for places is fierce and the team coach – formidable PE teacher Mrs Jackson – thinks Poppy’s flaky.

So when she has a chance to help Instagram star Gaz Winters with his fledgling Christmas charity, Poppy jumps at the chance.

Hoping it will impress the fearsome Mrs Jackson, she throws herself into helping Gaz and his team grant Christmas wishes for sick and disadvantaged children.

And when a young girl called Ella asks for the impossible, Poppy and Cloud must risk everything to make her Christmas dream come true.

A Riverdale Christmas is the ninth book in the Riverdale Pony Stories, an Amazon best-selling series enjoyed by young and old alike.

Perfect for fans of Lauren St John, Stacy Gregg, Pippa Funnell, Olivia Tuffin and Clare Balding.

Amanda Wills is the author of the Riverdale Pony Stories, which follow the adventures of pony-mad Poppy McKeever and her beloved Connemara Cloud.

Writing has always been a passion for the UK-based former journalist and police press officer.

Amanda wrote her first pony stories when she was still at school. Publishing The Lost Pony of Riverdale in 2013 was the realisation of a lifetime's ambition to become a fully-fledged author. The book now has more than 750 five star ratings on Goodreads.

Amanda has plenty more adventures in store for Poppy and Cloud. She's also planning more books for younger readers following the success of Juno's Foal, The Pony of Tanglewood Farm and The Midnight Pony.

When she isn't writing, Amanda enjoys riding, playing tennis and cycling in the leafy lanes around her home.

Amanda and her husband, fellow indie author Adrian Wills, live in Kent with their sons Oliver and Thomas. Find out more at www.amandawills.co.uk or at www.facebook.com/riverdaleseries/

This is a great series, Poppy is a wonderful character who loves her pony so much. I like how her character deals with the same, sometimes selfish, thoughts that everyone has, and how she tries to do the right thing.

Amanda Wills writes so well that when Poppy read through all the letters of Children asking for wishes I nearly cried as well.
I loved it so much. I would definitely suggest it for anyone who likes child wishers come true( not forgetting drama! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect antidote to the autumn blues!

The Riverdale Pony Stories are definitely not just for children. They are beautifully written and, although the characters and stories are undoubtedly contemporary, for a middle-aged woman who was once a pony-mad child, there is a touch of nostalgia for a time when children could go out all day, unsupervised, with friends and have adventures on their ponies .

This latest book couldn't have been released at a better time. With the weather taking a turn for the worse and the dark nights getting longer, this book is the perfect antidote to the autumn blues - a big, heart-warming, soul-nourishing dose of hygge (or 'hoo-guh' as Gaz Winters, Riverdale's perma-tanned local celebrity would say)!

Yet another great book in the Riverdale Pony Series. Despite being 52 I love these books. Pony Girls Never Grow Up!! Just the right mix of realism and wishful thinking. These books take me back to my childhood reading the Ruby Ferguson 'Jill' books, but updated to this century.
