A Sense of Belonging (Perceptions Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 223 ratings

Wiltshire, England – Spring 1880
Second sight - a blessing or a curse? Flora Latimer has a gift. Precognition, second sight, telepathy, call it what you will. But her status as the eldest daughter of a strictly religious and overly ambitious cleric means that her gift must go unrecognised during her dour and bleak upbringing. Eventually she escapes her crushing restrictions and the prospect of an enforced marriage to work as companion to the elderly and eccentric Dowager Countess of Swindon, where she swiftly discovers a new sense of belonging in an opulent and aristocratic rural setting. But it’s not long before her gift gets her into trouble. She senses a conspiracy to trick Luke Beranger, the Earl of Swindon, into matrimony. Ghosts from the Earl’s past have returned to haunt him, and he will need all Flora’s help if he is to untangle himself from their clutches.

I’m a British author, brought up on the Isle of Wight and share my life with a handsome rescued Spanish Podenco called Markos.

I’ve had over one hundred books published, ranging from Regency romance, (my first love), to contemporary women’s fiction and marine crime mysteries.

When not writing I walk miles, make half-hearted attempts to retain flexibility by attending yoga classes, read other people’s tomes…oh, and I’m on a one woman mission to keep the wine trade profitable!

Very well written and full of feelings that kept me interested until the end of the story. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a great action and romantic novel. The characters are wonderfully developed and very interesting.

I am sorry but I hate serials......had to sit thru too many of them as my widowed mother worked on Saturdays so my sister and I went to Saturday matinees for years....and we never got to see the ends {sigh}...but I digress. Decent writing but totally predictable. Disappointed as this writer is normally better than this sample.

What a joy to read a book like this by an English writer. Not having to put up with distracting Americanisms is another bonus.
I enjoyed the story a lot. A good plot and I look forward to the next in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mixture of clean romance and intrigue

This a mixture of clean romance and intrigue and it kept my interest from beginning to end. One word of warning - there is a betrothal but not the one expected which will presumably come in another book later in the series. I look forward to reading more.

story line which kept me interested all the way through. To be honest I couldn't put it down and have just finished it at seven minutes after midnight. Book 2 is already downloaded but reading it will have to wait for another day.
