    Weaving the Lord's guidance into the relationship was tender and appreciated. I couldn't decide between 4 or 5 stars, but found some things a little tangled and sort of repeated. I did not go back and start over, but was surprised they had only know each other for "a week," which was stated near the end. It seemed longer than that...? Karla B.

When Ashley Madden, who has an art studio in a gallery that depends heavily on sales of paintings by the famous artist David Fodero, sets out to find him, she has no idea what lies ahead. Will he even talk with her to provide an explanation for not sending new art to the gallery?

    Ashley makes her way to the nearby town of Cherish, South Carolina, where David has recently bought a cabin in the woods. She makes up an excuse for knocking on his door to meet him but does not tell him the real reason for her visit. As she gets to know him, Ashley learns that David has lost vision in one eye.

    As you would expect, the two are attracted to each other. But David has already declared that he does not date anyone for more than 3 months. Is it worth risking her heart for Ashley to spend time with him?

    Their relationship flourishes, but her lack of initial honesty about why she wanted to find him is a concern as they become more emotionally involved. What will happen when he learns the truth?

    A Summer to Cherish is beautifully written and the reader is quickly drawn into the story. I was quickly drawn to the characters and, of course, loved returning to Cherish in this addition to author’s Cherish series. This, like her other books in the series, is a standalone novella and you do not need to have read any of the others to enjoy the story.

    If you like inspirational romance, then pick up your copy, curl up in a cozy corner, and get lost in this book for a few hours.

    If a master musician like Beethoven can compose music when deaf can a renowned artist paint when he’s lost the sight in one eye? As David grapples with his new reality he meets beautiful Ashley or “Twinkle”. She lights up his life and makes him believe again and possibly even revisit his Christian upbringing. But her motives aren't clear and their meeting not entirely coincidental. Both are falling hard and fast but can his cynical view of the world make peace with her deceptions, especially when she purports herself to be a Christian? This is look at real problems and moral questions that beg to be considered. This is clean and wholesome with strong Christian themes of God’s love especially in dark times of our lives.

    Ashley was tasked with finding David and convincing him to provide paintings for the art studio she works at in order to save them from going out of business. She does sneak around and lie to him. David openly admits he's distanced himself from religion and romantic relationship are shallow and short term, but he quickly becomes close romantically to Ashley. She is very religious and spends much of the book trying to convert him to where it felt like it took up most of their discussions. They are both stubborn and quick to judge at times. I can't imagine going blind never mind if I was an artist like David. I admire Ashley for working with children with disabilities, but she does try to school David at times in how to deal with his situation. I loved his dog Pickle, that he convinced Ashley to consider a dog for herself, and how dog friendly Cherish is. I enjoyed catching up with the characters who live there.
