    I love the depth and backstory that Chris is building in this world. He has done a great job of providing a timeline and giving you hints at when the events take place. The story lines up well with the main sequence ad we get a feel for LA outside of the school (which seems to be a fairly new thing at this point). I also enjoyed the brief description of Paladin in this book. We get a feeling that something is slightly off about this hero, just from the short blurb.

    Great short, can't wait for more.
