A True Fit: Finding My Forever Book 4 Kindle Edition
My life has been great the past few years and I have zero intention of screwing anything up. I’m certainly not going to let some guy ruin things for me, especially not my boss’s ex. But for some reason, every time I run into Declan, I become more and more intrigued by him. It’s like something keeps pulling me in his direction and no matter how hard I try, I can’t stop myself from seeking him out. Ugh. And the fact that he’s not a complete jerk isn’t helping matters at all.
Declan~
Everyone around me is moving on with their lives and I’m just stuck: motionless, left utterly alone. After everything I’ve done, I don’t have many friends left, not that I can blame them. So when Trent decides to give me the chance to be a friend, I know I can’t screw it up. No matter how attractive and awesome and funny he is, I have to keep him strictly in the friend zone. Not that I’d want more, anyway, since I never do relationships. But it sure would make my life so much easier if he wasn’t so captivating all the time.
Trent and Declan form an unlikely friendship that they’re both desperate to keep. Afraid of damaging their newfound companionship, each is hesitant to make a move, even if they both feel the pull of attraction growing between them. Will they be able to take a chance and let their friendship grow into something more?
***A True Fit is the fourth book in the Finding My Forever series, but is a standalone novel. Each book will feature a different couple, but the couples will show up throughout the series. It’s a contemporary romance between two men with explicit language and graphic sex intended for Adults Only.***

About the author

Michele is married to an awesome guy that puts up with her and all the burnt dinners she makes—hey, sometimes characters are a bit distracting, and who doesn’t plot when they’re supposed to be cooking? They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with two little monsters, a three-legged princess, a four-legged goofball, and a cutie with giant ears (aka their two kids, their two cats, and their dog). She hopes to rescue another cat soon, and if her hubby wouldn’t kill her, she’d get more than one… and maybe a few more dogs as well.
She loves creating worlds filled with lots of love, chosen family, and of course, magic, but she also likes making the characters fight for that happy ending. She hopes to one day write all the stories in her head—even if there are too many to count!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2018I know this book changed a couple of times before Declan got the one he was ment to be with and I'm so happy it was Trent.
Both men are without family and feels alone and Declan ,who's so burned by his past that he shys away from everything resembling a relationship, knows what everyone is thinking about him.
Trent really is the perfect man for Declan and he doesn't stop showing Trent that he's not going anywhere.
Declan and Trent is now up there as one of my favourite couples in the series together with Levi and Andy.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2018What a great read. Did it in one day! Acquaintances, then friends, then lovers. Declan has serious commitment issues, so serious that Trent fears nothing will ever change his mind. Follow these two, on their journey to a HEA ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2022Really enjoyed this series. I've binge read it. Now I have to wait for next one. This was my fav book in the series. Has the right amount of teary sections, more of a happy cry than an angst one.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2018You did it again Michele. I loved this story about the two characters I never thought would get together and fall in love. I know there a real parents out there who treat their kids the way Declan’s parents did and it just breaks my heart can be so cruel when family is supposed to love you unconditionally.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2018Maybe if I'd read the previous books in this series the sense of anticipation would have allowed me to appreciate this one more, but I found that an appealing premise turned into a hard slog.
I liked the idea of one of the main characters being cast as the villain in a previous relationship breakdown, resulting in him feeling shunned by his acquaintances. Trent works for the jilted partner in that relationship so he's inclined to share the general disdain for Declan, but he soon realises that Declan maybe isn't as black as he's painted. So far, so good.
But almost straight away it became apparent that this book needed a good editor. It's burdened with a lot of very banal dialogue which is meant to show Trent and Declan forming a connection, but all they seem to talk about (on the page, anyway) are mundane details of cooking or eating or transportation, with some unfunny banter thrown in for good measure. I felt like I was watching some mindless reality TV show. The tedium of some of their conversations drove me crazy.
Then there's the fact that not much actually happens in this book, which wouldn't matter if the writing sparkled, but see above. For a long time they have a platonic friendship, which is fine with me in any romance, but when they start to become physically affectionate it feels like several scenes are repeats of each other, adding nothing to the development of the relationship or the plot. This book is far too long for the story it has to tell; it started to feel like it would never end.
Adding to the sense of time standing still is the behaviour of Declan. Trent is an interesting character with some quirky traits but Declan is fairly one-dimensional and not always consistently drawn. He is supposedly convinced he is unlovable because of past treatment by his family (ignoring the fact that he was the one who ended his previous relationship - yes, the one that painted him as a heartbreaker - when his then partner wanted to strengthen their commitment to each other). Declan is the reason the book goes nowhere for so long; his emotional insecurities are rehashed over and over, despite his relationship with Trent being portrayed as pretty much perfect.
Overall, I found the author's writing style to be reasonably polished and there are some sweet moments but there's too much repetition and not enough meaningful dialogue.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2018This women has some beyond amazing books but this one takes the cake! Dec and Trent are perfect for each other and the book shows exactly that!! So much love in this book between everyone!!! Can’t wait for the next!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2019I loved this book. Trent and Declan are a great couple, and they deserve happiness they get! But I had one big problem....
Declan just gets CRAPPED on the entire time by everyone because of what happened in the previous book with Levi. I understand; Levi is awesome (he really is!), but Declan did nothing wrong. He was up front with Levi about there not being anything "romantic" about them being together; it was only to be friends who got physical. Levi fell for Declan, and tried to make a relationship grow from where they started, thinking if he just stuck around long enough, Declan would feel the same. But when Declan realized this, he gently reminded Levi that their physical relationship wasn't going to evolve into anything else. Declan didn't lead him on, didn't lie, he wasn't a jerk or condescending about it... But when Levi ended it because Levi was falling for Declan, everyone just said Declan was a jerk and treated Levi badly! And **slight spoilers** when Declan saw Levi again, Andrew draped himself all over Levi and Levi LOVED it. Drew was showing what Declan could have had, and I do understand that need to do that to someone you believe hurt the man you fell in love with. But he did it more than once. It got seriously irritating having everyone put Declan down and Declan just taking it. Yes, Levi was hurt. It was sad. But Declan wasn't the bad guy. There WASN'T a bad guy in the situation at all. Levi wanted more, and Declan was honest, open, and nice about the fact he DIDN'T want more. Levi left to protect himself. He was hurt. But Declan didn't deserve to feel like such a horrible person because Levi wanted to change the rules and expected Declan to just catch up with him. And this is never addressed! Declan deserves apologies from so many people for saying he broke Levi's heart when he never asked for it to begin with.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2018I have been waiting for Declan’s story and I was so excited that it was with Trent! I enjoyed every minute of it! I look forward to retreading it and definitely look forward to Hunter and Tristan’s book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this series.
I have read this entire series to date and have been waiting for Declan's story. Notaro writes that initially it was to have been Declan's and Mattie but Trent and Declan's fit so well I couldn't see him with anyone else. I love how Notary includes the characters from previous books. So makes you want to have a family/friends like this. There is a sweetness and vulnerability to her characters that makes them real without being sappy or irritating. She always provides a real story line that keeps you engaged to the end as she does with Trent who has to be aware enough of his own issues and Dec's to recognise and apologise to Dec. Can't wait for the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh my heart.
The best so far. This relationship truly touched me.
I could have read so much more of these two. The gaps between the chapters were needed to get the story in but I would have happily read every moment between this pair.

4.0 out of 5 stars modern romance
Aww I’m smiling so hard. I’m glad Declan and Trent found their happiness eventually. It was good watching these characters evolve. Again great characters and gripping family drama with many funny moments. Loving the banter! Great series of modern romances.
