- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseDarkspace is the final book in the Stars Aflame series and the series as a whole has been quite good: humanity versus the superior tech of an alien race is a tried and tested theme in science fiction. But even I have to admit to feeling a little let down by Darkspace's ending - it felt a little anti-climatic. I won't go into detail suffice to say that while Darkspace had plenty of action and the sense of adventure that Richard Tongue is known for, it wasn't up to the same 5-star level that I had given the previous 2 books. However, it is still worth a read, if not because it is the final book in the series :)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis series was a little more original than most... it starts off in familiar ground, but goes into some unexpected areas. The whole trilogy is available, so go ahead and get them.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book took me from hopeless to extreme joy for the crew to save humanity from any enemy destined to destroy it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI've never read such a stirring tale in only 3 books, I want to read more about the characters and their future adventures...stirs the explorer in my imagination. Will get more from this author

5.0 out of 5 stars Come He'll or high water
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGood read all 3 books ...nothing worse than a 10 million year old intelligence telling you where to go and how to do it ...once again the human race wins ...would have liked an epiphany for the CIB(CENTRAL Intelligence Being)...and a way of peace without violence...after all we're better than that ...aren't we?

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseBattles were a little repetitive. Not sure if you can dodge a laser beam a million times, but it was entertaining.

2.0 out of 5 stars I found this book tedious.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNot sure what to say about this book, can't say it was boring but it has taken me getting on for four months to read. I read all previous books in days if not hours, this did not grip me as previous books did. Seemed to be moralising rather than entertainment.
