4.5 out of 5 stars 299 ratings

Losses pile up like the snowdrifts of a never-ending winter in this post-apocalyptic series conclusion.

Nathan Tolley’s wife is gone, leaving him adrift in a vast ocean of bitter white that promises nothing but heartache and despair. Yet, his weary band of travelers continue to look to him to secure their safety. But Nate’s no leader. Every decision he’s made on their dangerous cross-country journey has taken them from bad to worse. First Detroit. Then Chicago. Now, Wyoming, which proves the deadliest of all.

As circumstances continue to deteriorate like the weather, Nate turns their sights south, but the past is about to catch up to them in ways none of them will see coming. And in order to embrace an uncertain future, sacrifices must be made. Survival of the fittest gets real—fast. And, this time, it’s personal.

Prepper survivalist author Grace Hamilton invites you to step into a post-apocalyptic, EMP-ravaged world filled with strong, resourceful characters, survivalist knowledge, and edge-of-your seat action.

FREE EMP Survival Story

An EMP hits—would you have what it takes to survive?

https://dl.bookfunnel.com/iqaxgssjz4

Grace Hamilton is the prepper pen-name for a bad-ass, survivalist momma-bear of four kids, and wife to a wonderful husband. After being stuck in a mountain cabin for six days following a flash flood, she decided she never wanted to feel so powerless or have to send her kids to bed hungry again. Now she lives the prepper lifestyle and knows that if SHTF or TEOTWAWKI happens, she’ll be ready to help protect and provide for her family.

Combine this survivalist mentality with a vivid imagination (as well as a slightly unhealthy day dreaming habit) and you get a prepper fiction author. Grace spends her days thinking about the worst possible survival situations that a person could be thrown into, then throwing her characters into these nightmares while trying to figure out "What SHOULD you do in this situation?"

It’s her wish that through her characters, you will get to experience what life will be like and essentially learn from their mistakes and experiences, so that you too can survive!

This was a good series but I don't agree with many of Nathan's decisions. Sure it is great that he was able to survive all the atrocities and keep his humanity, but if different decisions were made early on, then maybe his family would have all survived. We will all have to dig deep and make hard decisions, but some people are too evil to live. Good thought provoking series.

I just finished this three book series I enjoyed the story . I have all of Grace Hamilton’s books and enjoy her writing. There were places in all three books that were missed by the editors . Book three totally mixed up vehicles being driven by the correct people. The characters were very versatile and as always some I loved and some not so much lol. All in all a really good series

Great series. Ms Hamilton is an amazing writer. She describes in such detail that you feel as if you are there with the characters. She keeps you hanging on each word. I love her wonderfully written similes and metaphors. Must read!!

Having read all three books in this series I am sorry to see it end. I usually get irritated when an author strings out a story line for like ever......But in the case of this story I would like to see it continue. Good character development...Good story line. Overall a very enjoyable read.

I just discovered them. And I read them one right after the other. So well written and thought out. I'm a prepped too, so this was especially interesting to me. I even liked the ending, and that says a lot. I sat on the edge of my seat almost all the time I was reading. Thank you for keeping a human element to Nathan, not every one will be bad if ( when) something like this happens. Just wish ad kept Saber.

*I received a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.*

This is the third in a trilogy. I read all 3 books back to back, and maybe that was my downfall. I really enjoyed the first one, the second one started feeling a little repetitive, and by the third one, it just started feeling really redundant. Especially in regards to “near escapes.” The closer it got to the end of the series, the more time the author spent jamming it down our throats that “there was no way he’d make it out of this alive because there was absolutely no one left to rescue him” and it got kind of insulting and boring. Let the readers figure out for themselves that it’s very suspenseful because there’s nobody left to be the hero.

One thing I find aggravating about some sequels is the amount of time the writer spends referencing the previous book(s). I get that most people don’t read a series all at once, and an occasional refresher is necessary so the reader isn’t lost or confused, but this book seemed to spend a lot of time referring to people and events from the first 2 books, but it was sprinkled throughout in a way that made sense. This could just be a pet peeve of mine.

By this third book, the main character became a tad difficult to root for. He spent a lot of time feeling sorry for himself and putting too much trust in people after he kept getting into situations where he shouldn’t have trusted so blindly—which resulted in him feeling sorry for himself again.

If you can get through the “oh, come on!” moments (in regards to his wallowing and also being rescued, yet again, at the absolute last second), the end of the story is quite redeeming.

Overall, I recommend it, but maybe space out the 3 books in the series a bit.

This was a really good book!Nathan is trying to move on without his wife.He has his sons.He has his group. They know not to trust people ,but sometimes they'd like to in this horrible new world. D.C. Newman was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I loved all the twist and turns. Though it was rough to see the characters getting bashed at every turn, it was worth read I g to see what the end would be. A must read book
