Agent of Chaos (Dark Fae FBI Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 2,871 ratings

London is burning, and the fae are holding the matches. I am Cassandra Liddell: FBI Special Agent and bad-ass Pixie. After barely surviving my last assignment, I'm on the hunt for answers about my past, when bombs start exploding all over London. Fae terrorists have attacked and thrown the city into chaos.

To make matters worse, my best friend Scarlett has been abducted, and her captor is playing a twisted game of “Simon Says," sending me riddles paired with impossible tasks. Roan, a seductive fae warrior, is willing to help me … but of course he has a price. One I’m not sure I’m willing to pay.

Hounded by supernatural pursuers and hunted by the CIA, I'm racing against time to save Scarlett, and to stop London from burning to the ground. Rage is simmering under the surface, and when it boils, I'll unleash a fire of my own.
A new adult urban fantasy.

Absolutely loved the second book in this series following right after the events of the first book.. Cassandra has to fight even more people, break even more laws. And grow closer to Roan. A fast paced adult urban fantasy that I couldnt put down

Cool twist on the fae world. The plot was engaging and nicely paced. The rhyming riddles that dictated twisted tasks were a fun twist and helped things move along. I wish there had been more of Roan in the story. He’s hardly in this one except for a few key moments. Hopefully there will be more of him in the next book.

I like Cassandra's character, but this plot seemed like an endless chase scene. The pace was non-stop, so the reader had no time to stop and absorb before the next challenge or tragedy struck. Good story, and likeable protagonists, but I think I need a nap.

This is basically a who is Cassandra story. It continues the strife in London. It’s a bit brutal. And as Sandra has to use all her abilities she fumbles and fails and then gains insight. It’s a story that keeps you reading.

SPOILER ALERT: There are spoilers regarding the first book in the series. Warning has been issued.

Cassandra killed the Rix of the fae who was also the Terror Ripper serial killer that was plaguing the city so that he could feed on it's fear. Cassandra has the same ability which she doesn't relish. She has given her statement to the FBI, but due to all of the fae and magic elements involved, her story doesn't make a lot of sense, which is suspicious. She is due to head back home, but there are still so many questions she has about the fae, and she isn't ready to leave.

Cassandra's best friend, Scarlett, is coming to London on a mission of her own since she works for the CIA. She is interested in getting Cassandra's help for it. London is about to be under attack again, and Cassandra will be in the middle of it.

In the romance area of it, Cassandra is currently living with Detective Gabriel Stewart as a roommate. Nothing romantic is currently happening, but something could. On the other hand, there is also Roan Taranis who is involved in helping Cassandra navigate the fae world, and there is a spark there.

Overall it isn't bad, but I fell out of interest about halfway through and ended up skimming ahead in a few places. It's not bad, and I'm still curious about how the series unfolds, but it didn't pull me in as well as the first book did.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great second book which keeps the story and action pumping
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 21, 2017
The second book in the Dark Fae FBI series carries on with as much action packed tension as the first. I loved the first book in this series and the second was just as good. I love that this is set in London as it's my home city and the authors are incredibly accurate with their descriptions of the city and the places.

I love the characters the authors have created. Cassandra is learning more about who she really is in this book and I think she comes to an uncertain acceptance with herself that she is no longer just a human. I like that we get to see more of Gabriel in this book, but feel he is just a very good friend to Cass. Roan, well I really like him but did feel that we didn't get to see enough of him as I would've liked. I also wanted to see a bit more of a development in his and Cass's relationship, but don't feel we're any further in that department than we were in the first book so here's to hoping for a lot more of those two in book 3.

I'm giving this book 5 stars as although I felt we didn't get to learn any more about Roan that I would've liked, the world building and story building in this book is incredibly strong. I'm looking forward to reading book three and I'm also hoping that Alvin pops up a bit more as he's a side character I enjoy. Am really enjoying this series and looking forward to quite a few more books in this series as feel its got the potential to fill several books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series - recommend!!
Reviewed in Australia on May 6, 2018
This series is a great mix of paranormal with modern technology. Using FBI methods, CIA technology and her newly discovered mirror magic, Cassandra is searching for the fae who is causing disasters all over London. When it turns out this enemy has stronger mirror magic than her own, and manages to kidnap Scarlett, Cass might be out if her depth. As she is blackmailed to perform feats in order to save Scarlett, she finds herself alienated from those she considers friends. With everyone turning against her, Cass struggles to stay positive. What she does find, though, are answers to her past and why she is now revealed as a pixie when her parents always seemed so human.

Recommend this series and can't wait for the next book!

It was one adventure too long. I liked the story but I yearn for some romance and the book could have spared a few pages. I liked reading but it could be better
