- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2023An old enemy returns, not much ancient civilization in this one, but if you like space battles this one is for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2017I debated with myself over whether I should give this five stars. It started out slow but then the last half was "you can't put this down kind of action. I temporarily stopped about halfway through as the Daniel Marshall I thought that I'd come to know changed into a raving lunatic. I did not like his temporary character at all. However, by the end he came back strong and was the wonderful person we'd come to know and respect. I will miss some of the players taken out of the game in this book but overall, this is a great book. Captain Marshall was such an ass I just can't give it five stars. I love Mr. Tongue's imagination and ability to tell a story. Thank you for writing and sharing your worlds with us.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2017As an avid reader of Mr. Tongue I am still mesmerized by the fine character development, story line consistency and inventiveness of the author. This work is no different than the rest. We would be sadly deprived of one of the best were he not writing in this genre. This is his forte. As usual I will say, 'If Richard Tongue is writing it, I will be reading it.'
- Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2017I just finished reading Spell of the Stars and Mr Tongue does not disappoint in this book. I have been into this series since the first book and still love it as much as the first book . There is always plenty of action and a great adventure when you read them.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2017I don't know what to say. Since July of 2013 I purchased 25 novels that I considered a light read. Something that was not deep, but enjoyable. This was a dark read. It is not every day that a main line character meets his end. I was sad to see his end. I hope the next edition goes back to the enjoyable light read. Great characters!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2017A fast moving continuation of the Alamo saga. Some of the original characters are missing, and I hope we find out in the next book what going on there. And then the ending was totally unexpected. So if you haven't read this one yet, you should. And now for the long wait for that next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2017An amazing adventure, spell binding. Hard to wait for the next episode. Richard is a fantastic story teller. Hurry up with the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2017Thanks for fixing the head shaking. The direction this one has gone, will leave me behind. Too bc, cause I enjoyed the ride, til now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Starting to wear.
not too bad but really starting to get tired after, what 25 books now, without an ending in sight.
Either kill them all or let them wipe out the aliens once and for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always a good read
I have enjoyed every Alamo book since they started no exception here. I hadn't realised how much I cared about the characters until this book.
