I LOVE A LOVE STORY. This is a love story in the purest form. Fate, timing what happens when you missed your chance. What happens when you walk away . What happens when you come back. This was all the emotions. I love watching Derek and Teagan navigate what is now their life. The truths that come out. . So much emotion. Absolute must read.

    Corinne did it again really. The was so good and so different from all her other books. At first I felt like it was slow the first to second chapter but when it got going I was hook. I couldn’t put it down. I loved it that much.

    Teagan and Derek were best friends growing up and secretly in love with the other, never having the nerve to tell the other. But when they thought about confessing how they felt <b>Timing is everything</b>

    <I>As the head cheerleader at her small-town high school Teagan never expected to become best friends with Derek, the cute, shy son of the town veterinarian. Over the years, even though Tegan was dating the star of the football team, she couldn't hide her growing feelings for Derek. But just as Teagan is finally ready to confess her feelings for Derek, she finds out she is pregnant, and Derek has moved on.

    It was only after he married his college sweetheart that Derek realized that he was in love with his best friend Teagan. Determined to do what was best for his family, he cut Teagan out of his life. Thirteen years later, still harboring guilt for his failed marriage and his wife's death in a tragic accident, Derek finds himself back in his hometown with his daughter.</I>

    <b><I> “Me?” I gasp. “What did I do to deserve your anger? I woke up one day and realized that you didn’t want to ever hear my voice again.     So not only did I love Teagan and Derek’s story, I loved how Derek was with Teagan’s daughter Chastity. It truly was sweet and at times a bit funny…

    “I’m happy to talk to your mother if you want, to help mitigate the situation.” She shakes her head. “It’s fine. I’ve been handling my mother for a long time now. She’ll go off the deep end, calm down, see the cute little kittens—after the gore that will stain her carpets—and then throw me and the cats out on the street. It’ll work out.”<b><I>

    So they question is, now that they seem to have been given a second chance, can they let go of their fears and take that leap admitting what they should of years ago. And even with some new bumps in their roads, will they get to have that happily ever after they’ve both always dreamed of?

    All I ask is about two teenage best friends (Derek and Teagan) that were in love with each other and were too scared to take the leap to tell the other. After 13 years have gone by since Derek had ended their friendship, he and his teenage daughter are back in town. Derek is full of regret of how he ended his friendship and is on a mission to make it right as well as trying to learn about how to deal with all the life changes he has recently gone through. Teagan's heart is guarded and is dealing with her teenage daughter being bullied, as well as feeling like her life is just in limbo. This book (like every other book I've read from Corinne) I could not put it down. Reading this book you felt what Derek and Teagan felt, the heart break they both experienced, and how much they had meant to each other, and how much love they both still have for each other. I love that their daughters were so important to them and that each of them had different not perfect relationships, and that their daughters feelings were a big part of their decisions. I do wish that we got a better look at their friendship more in their teenage years, like how their friendship grew, how much Keith was jealous of Derek, maybe the first time they met up at the beach and how it became their spot, and I know we saw how Teagans heart shattered during the wedding, I would have really like to have seen . Again, I really did enjoy this book and I recommend it for anyone who is up for a book to make you feel all the feels, I just wish there was a little more from the past to show how much they did mean to each other back then as well as how other people had saw how in love they were, as well as something to show how much of a change Teagan and her mothers relationship had had.

    Ever since Love and Other Words I have been looking for something to make my soul ache the same way and this book did that and so much more! I'm a sucker for books filled with angst and sad backstories and this book delivered!

    Teagan and Derek have been best friends since high school, but suddenly everything changes and their friendship is ripped apart after one phone call. Now 13 years later, Teagan is doing her best to raise her daughter and run her parents antique store when Derek, the best friend she was (and maybe still is) secretly in love with, shows up in town with a daughter of his own. Determined not to let the past define their future, these two find themselves opening up to one another and giving in to the connection that has been between them from the beginning. But, just as they come upon their happily ever after history threatens to repeat itself. Will they fall into old patterns or carve out a new pathway for themselves?

    This book was heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Outside of the romance this book touches on grief and mother-daughter relationships as well. I haven't read much single parent romance so I wasn't sure how much I could relate to the characters since I'm not a parent, but Corinne Michaels wrote these characters so well that I still found a kinship with Teagan despite our differences.

    I think this story was tied up really nicely and it didn't feel rushed to me. I was really happy with each characters growth by the end. I highly recommend this book even if you don't like single parent or small town romance! It's easily one of my favourite reads of this year!

    What can I POSSIBLY say about this book that gave me sooooooo many INCREDIBLE emotions from the heart-wrenching ANGST right from the first chapter (OMG!!!), to the glorious and emotional epilogue that left my heart a happy, mushy mess...with ALLLLLL the FEELS in between??!!

    Teagan and Derek's second-chance love story took me on a roller coaster ride of EPIC proportions! I was completely captivated by this gorgeous, sometimes gut wrenching and heart-shattering story that has made it on to my TOP READS EVER list! There were times while reading that I had to stop and give my heart a break from the FEELS! There were also times when I wanted to seriously punch a few of the characters in this novel (Derek being one of them!)!!!

    Ms. Michaels has PERFECTED the "torture them with feels" aspect of writing to the point where she has earned her "Elphaba" nickname 100%!!! All I can say is this book will RIP YOUR HEART OUT, STOMP ON IT, SMASH IT TO SMITHEREENS....and then put it all back together again! I can't recommend this book highly enough! It's a DEFINITE MUST READ!

    My heart! I wasn't sure it would survive this book! It was completely shattered, then slowly put back together! The emotions and the angst was absolutely brillant, though it nearly destroyed me. This story was in one word, breathtaking. The love and friendship Teagan and Derek have shouldn't be classified as perfect and yet I can't think of another word to use, because this book was pure perfection. Every detail and word that was written brought out all of my emotions. It touched my whole being and left me with an incredible feeling of bliss. You will love this story, Corinne knocked this one out of the park and it has become an absolute favourite read of mine!
