All I Want Is You: A holiday romance Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 706 ratings

One kiss under the mistletoe destroyed a friendship. Will another Christmas kiss remake it into something better?

Eli hasn't been home since he left at eighteen with a heart aching from his best friend's rejection and his father's intolerance. But when his father reaches out, Eli figures it's time to make peace with his family. He doesn't expect to come face-to-face with Turner too -- or to learn that the straight friend he'd foolishly loved is actually bisexual -- but once the shock wears off, he knows exactly what he wants for Christmas.

Turner's life isn't everything he'd once planned, but he's happy to be the shoulder his loved ones lean on. They keep him busy, which is just as well since none of his dates have really clicked. He hasn't been able to connect with anyone the way he did with his former best friend. When Eli shows up for the holidays after years away, Turner doesn't know what hit him. But he knows one thing: This time, he wants to give Eli a reason to stay.

All I Want Is You is a friends to lovers, second-chance romance with an HEA.

This really had everything I wanted in a holiday romance: great characters, great personal growth for all characters, a well-paced plot, good dialogue, spicy scenes, plenty of romantic moments, and enough holiday cheer to make you warm in winter! I also really enjoyed how they healed with safe spaces for LGBTQ+ in places that aren't welcoming. Another great work by DJ!

A yellow convertible, a driver in distress, a knight who drives a shiny jeep and a … Bear!?!

Eli and Turner’s story starts out as two friends who no longer have contact with each other because of a mistake both of them made years ago. Coming in to the book you get to see a very sweet relationship between Turner and the absent Eli’s family. It gives the book a nice background that you don’t often see in books where there is a rift between friends.

I do wish we would have seen more background between Cam and Turner as well as more development for their past relationship. Cam shows up and starts flirting with Eli in front of his Ex and they all go for drinks. There's not much depth that tells us of their past together and if the relationship ended on a good or bad note and why.

Things did flow very smoothly for the plot in this story. My only reservation is that I had hoped there would be a bit more of a struggle between Eli and Coach. The acceptance was very easy with minimal resistance between the two after not speaking for years. Eli’s relationship with Turner was also very easy and progressed very quickly and I wish we had got to see more of their life together before the epilogue.

Overall, I had a bit of a laugh at some parts and the story left me with a very feel-good and light vibe with its happy ever after. The writer did an amazing job at making a light and sweet Christmas story that leaves you wanting for more.

This is a modern romance story and can be read as a stand alone. Once upon a time, Turner and Eli were best friends but when Eli tries to kiss Turner under the mistletoe one night during the annual HS track Team Christmas party, their friendship becomes a thing of the Past. Eli returns home 8 years later, now Turners hoping for a second chance! What a fantastic story from the start! The characters were well written, I felt like they could be real people. This was a great book, really getting me in the feels.

I enjoyed this one. I loved Turner and understood where he was coming from, he made a mistake when he was younger and was scared to be out and Eli left for good and took his friendship with him.

I liked Eli too but I did feel that he was a bit pushy and wanted people to react how he wanted on his time schedule. His dad knew he had made a mistake, a mistake that had Eli staying away from home for 8 years and he was trying to fix it, but he still struggled at times and Eli kept blaming him.

This was a somewhat suspenseful story but it was one of those where you think you know how things will end, but until the actual end (or 4 pages before "The End"), you're not really sure. There is a super HEA (happily ever after) ending, as expected, although there are some hiccups along the way.

I especially appreciated the discussions about LGBTQ centers and the difference between all our words for non-binary folks. Even after reading mm books for 3-4 years, I'm still a bit confused by some terminology.

DJ has written an adult, fun, sexy, real-life Christmas story here. And it was a good read this year and will be a re-read next year and so on... I hope you will enjoy it as well!

Despite a rather heartbreaking, but necessary, prologue, this book was adorable! Eli loses his job and is forced to return home after 8 years. He's not eager to face the conservative community that never accepted him, the father who never approved of him and the former best friend who rebuffed him when he missed him under the mistletoe. You can't help but feel bad for Eli but you quickly realize that things have changed. I liked how hard his dad tried. You could see that he loved his son and had missed him. But it was really sweet seeing Eli and Turner reconnect. Turner came out as bisexual while Eli was away and finally acknowledged his attraction and feelings for Eli. I loved watching their relationship grow.

Great book just more angst than I was looking for in a Christmas story. I wanted more apologies on Elis behalf yes he ran away but for good reasons and his family and friends should have put more effort to make him feel wanted
Overall good book just not a favorite of mine

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
Reviewed in Australia on December 27, 2018
I loved this book! From the very start, I felt invested in the story and needed to know what happened next - both for Eli and Tucker, but also their families.

The story is slightly different to the blurb - Eli's Father doesn't reach out to him, Eli loses his job due to a merger and goes home for Christmas given he doesn't have anywhere else to be, or anything else to do.

Eli hasn't been home for 8 years so tension runs high between him and his father who, when he chose to leave for college, had told him he was only welcome home "if he wasn't gay". When Tucker swings by to look in on Eli's parents, which he's been doing for years now, the two reunite and struggle to deny their attraction to each other - only issue is that Eli doesn't know that Tucker came out as Bi 3 years ago, so still thinks he's pining after a straight man.

The story was well written, and flowed well. I loved Tucker and Eli's journey, and how sweet it was when they finally opened up to each other. That they had the support of their families (Eli's Dad genuinely trying to understand and accept Eli) was a beautiful addition.

The epilogue was sweet, and wrapped up the story perfectly. Definitely a book I would recommend.

So in love with Turner and Eli’s second chance love story. It’s not your usual second chance but was none the less.

Eli returns to his home town 8 years after his father made it very hard for him to stay. He left behind a best friend that had rejected him. So he felt like leaving was his only chose.

Turner has spent the last 8 years regretting his actions at 18. So when Eli returns he at least wants the friendship all he lost because of his stupidity.

This book is about redemption, love and so much more and now I think I’m a bit addicted to this author! Can’t wait to read more!
