Kathy Moczerniak is a lifelong Buffalo, New York native, where she has built a life with her husband and four children. Originally turning to writing seeking catharsis, her love of the written word quickly grew into a passion. Kathy’s determination to study her craft led her to graduate summa cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in English and Creative Writing. On her path to becoming an author, Kathy began as an editor, her love of literature growing with each experience. Life as an author, editor, and autism mom keeps Kathy quite busy, and she is eternally grateful for her family and the opportunity to do what she loves.

    Bought and read Amazing Amy. Kudos to author, Kathy Moczerniak and illustrator, Robin Gabriella Damiano! This is a well-written, beautifully illustrated and sensitive portrayal of the author’s daughter, and her challenges. While I don’t have an autistic child, my brother did. I wish I had been able to share this with them at the time. Really hits home that while different, autistic kids have gifts like all of us, and need understanding and kindness. Well done!

    The world needs more books like this! Especially the world where kids form first impressions about people who are different: in school, church, at home, at community activities... What I liked most was the idea of helping kids with autism learn to love themselves through the story of Amy. As readers, we learn to understand why she does what she does, and that it’s OK. We fall in love with her ways. And as fellow human beings, we learn how to love others (and ourselves) along the way. Bravo “Amazing Amy” for making the world a better place. Will be ordering more of this book!

    This is a beautiful book about Amazing Amy! The story and illustrations help to tell the uniqueness of Amy and other people with Autism. I love how the author explains something different/unique to Amy and then asks the reader how they act in different situations. This book is a great reference for all with its unique explanations of the various parts of a person identified with Autism. This book is an eye opener for families, educators, therapists, caretakers, and more to assist with understanding the uniqueness of a person with autism. Very, very, very enlightening!! Illustrations are beautiful and capture Amy wonderfully!! Kudos to Kathy and Robin.
