The Amazing Fairy Glasses is a sweet, colourful and beautifully illustrated rhyming fairytale that will captivate children, while encouraging them to wear their glasses.

Meet Belle, a tiny fairy who loves nothing more than flying fast through the forest with her friends. However, she has one big problem; she keeps on flying into things! Unlike her fairy friends, she can’t see the beautiful colours of fairy dust and she has no idea of the details in the forest she is missing. After a visit to her wise Granny fairy, Belle discovers she needs glasses to help her see. Granny magics up some amazing glasses for Belle, who finds she can now see everything clearly and fly faster than ever before. The beauty of the forest is revealed through her glasses and she sees the splendid colours of fairy dust for the first time.

Belle's story emphasises to children that wearing glasses will help them to see all the beautiful details of the world around them, that they may not have been able to see before. The illustrations in the book have been designed using a magnificent array of colours on every page, to inspire children to want to see what's coming next.

About the Author

Katy Tainton is a photographer and digital artist living in South Wales, UK. This is her first book and was inspired by her daughter Belle, who wears glasses. Belle at first refused to wear her glasses and Katy looked for books to help Belle understand that wearing glasses will help her to see better. She struggled to find a book that would help and so decided to write her first children's book based on this topic.

    I bought this book for my 2 year old for Christmas. She started wearing glasses full time in August, and although she's taken to it remarkably well she knows she's "different". She absolutely adores this story and shows it to everyone she can. The glasses are purple just like hers which she loves.
