    Finally a female lead who actually learns as the books progress. And the magic is a mix of new and old which I really like. The newbie polyamorous group writing is okay with their ability to communicate and talk through things. It does feel a little more fated mate more than poly because it just works for them too easily. Always a fan of the reverse harem, though.

    Excuse me, ma’am… but this series was way better than I was prepared for it to be. The writing was great, first of all, with little to no cringe—-don’t pretend you don’t know. If you read chili pepper rated books on the reg, you know to adjust your expectations for a certain level of cringe-writing. I didn’t see that in these books. I loved how we wasted no time building some sexual tension, but still left room for there to be more spice. And then MORE spice. And there was conflict, but none of that silly insecure useless drama. The end of book one had me out of my chair, but I am so glad things progressed as they did. A million out of 10. I marathoned the whole series and now I guess I have to go read everything Zoe Ashwood now.

    In some books I've read, the characters don't mesh well. They either fall in love too quickly without any basis for it, or they don't feel like they should be together at all. HOWEVER! Skye and her guys took me on a very believable romantic journey. I love all 4 of them and would never doubt their love for each other. LOVED IT!

    I loved our FMC Skye, she's smart, sweet, and even though she's going through a rough time with her powers and her family she's determined to start over on her own. She's completely unprepared for Alaska when she first shows up but she's won over by the beauty of Amber Bay which I totally understand because Ashwood does a great job bringing it to life.

    Skye is a bit thrown at first by her attraction to two men but Jack's sweet smiles and Ty's flirtations quickly win her over. I loved these three together and how easily they find their rhythm. Their scenes were definitely hot and spicy but also filled with a lot of emotional connection. I was also really happy to see things developing between Ty and Jack who have been friends their whole lives but are just now discovering there might be more between them.

    As the trilogy progresses we also slow see Aiden get integrated into the group though I have to be honest and say I never completely warmed up to Aiden. I think the issues with him just went on too long; but he does do a decent job of making it up to Skye (by the end of book 3) and apologizing for his mistakes.
