    This author is fairly new to me but I'm a firm fan. I discovered her when I picked up Pain in the Ice, book 8 in her Blackhaven Manor series. Once I read that I was hooked and bought all the other books in that series. This book is the first in the Hunters Hollow series. I started out with just this first book (I've learned the hard way not to buy more in a series until I've read the first one) and I wasn't disappointed. I bought the second before I was even half done with this one. Braeden and Zarrik were a great couple. Zarrik was tough and stalwart and Braeden was cute and had a fun personality and their commitment to each other was endearing. There was lots of mystery, drama and scary times and the final confrontation was riveting. There was also fun (the reference to a line from the Wizard of Oz was hysterical, sneaky and well done) and putting Braeden and Wren (from Thorne's story Grin and Bear It in Blackhaven Manor) together was inspired. So funny. I couldn't put this book down and now have already started book 2. Hope there's more to this series and to Blackhaven Manor.

    Wow! This book was so good. It literally sucked me in and I had to devour it in one sitting. I loved the MC's. Braeden is the sweetest, fiestiest guy and I loved how easily he accepted his induction into the paranormal world. He has such a "live and let live" attitude and I love how he truly has no bias or bigotry against any beings. Zarrick is more serious and stoic, until he meets Braeden, and then it's like watching him discover what truly living is for the first time. I love how he takes things slowly and doesn't rush Braeden - letting him make the first move in many ways. It really showed that his concern was for his mate rather than himself. The background characters add so much to the story and the world building was spot on. I'm really looking forward to discovering more books by this author and I highly recommend this one! Really good!

    so i like the original series better than the start to the spinoff. not saying it's bad, just not so much my cup of tea. highly recommend the first series... give the second a go just to see if it's your thing. it's like a murder mystery and started out super interesting, but i quickly figured out whodunnit, and the only part i really enjoyed after that was when Braeden met Wren.
