Good book

Good book
I enjoyed the book very much. I liked liked how the author told what the characters were thinking about all the time. This is what you get from reading books, not watching movies. Learned a bit about astrobiology, too!

I have become a recent fan of David Kazzie and this novel by far is his greatest work. Just like The immune and The living, et al, his characters are rich & complex, with personalities facing dilemmas wrought with decisions needing to be made concerning social justice. Exciting for me was to read about a strong female protagonist, a woman with multiple talents, compassion and empathy.
The joy of the winding road that leads you to David Kazzie’s books should be celebrated and one of your most enjoyable ppadventures...His works have brought hours of delight to my reading pleasure. Now that’s not to say there are scary stories and horrid people that can be met along the way, but he has the ability to give you a story to treasure even if it is one that scares you to the point of having a bad case of the ”Willies”. Anomaly is a scary novel and not just because of the people involved but it has a spooky scary twist to it that makes it unique. Most of his works that I am familiar with our fantastic post apocalyptic long, long, long, novels, that I just hate to end. I don’t know where he finds the time To write with his mastery, as he is a practicing attorney with the family. Somewhere he finds the time to write the most marvelous stories that have me now screaming for more. I have recommended his books time and time again, and it is the first time I have received so much favorable response from people who I turned onto David Kazzie. He writes with mastery. Where does he find the time? He is a practicing attorney with a family. Somewhere he makes the time to write the most marvelous stories that have me now screaming for more. I have recommended his books time and time again, and it is the first time I have received so much favorable response from people who I turned onto David Kazzie the author.

I was drawn into this story immediately and found it interesting that a male author could write so well from a female protagonist’s viewpoint. I loved Claire, the person telling the story, and found her emotions deep and believable. The story moves at a quick pace and kept me interested through the entire journey. I won’t give away spoilers here, so will not divulge a movie it reminded me of, at least the alien portion of it, but it was a good read and I wonder what I would have done if I had been Claire at the end.

But unfortunately it really dragged in the 2nd half. An interesting premise but when Claire got to the remote island, I expected more action. Yes, there was some (explosions, running, swimming) but such a lot of exposition, memories, that the actual action was just background noise. I really wanted to like this more. The ending was also a bit baffling.

This book grabbed me from the beginning and wouldn’t let go. Would have read it in one session, but had to finally put it down and go to sleep at 2 am. Don’t want to give any spoilers, but the book Makes great use of a fascinating sci-fi concept to explore some deep psychological conflicts and leaves you wondering “what would I do?” Fun twists and turns and keen observations about life keep this book moving. A bit different from Kazzie’s other books, an I think his best to date. The mix of physical and mental challenges faced by the protagonist would make for a great movie, but the author’s rich use of the English language shouldn’t be missed.

I don't think I realized this was a time travel story when I purchased the book. I don't like time travel stories. I know it was supposed to be a first contact story, which I *do* like. What the story *really* is, is a completely character driven, "what would flawed characters do in untenable situations," and "what lies would a flawed character tell themselves and loved ones."

I was about 65% through the book when I realized the story had almost nothing to do with the mysterious object, really. I lost interest, but skipped ahead to the last chapter, to see what happened to the main character. Boy was I disappointed! And kind of angry at the author.

I gave the book two stars, however. It is well written, well balanced for the type of story it is. Few spelling and grammatical errors. It is a character driven dilemma story that could be transferred to literally any other fiction genre. Romance, historical, literary, mystery, anything, with little work. And to be fair, the ending is appropriate for the kind of story it really is. Good closure for literary fiction, not so much for science fiction, IMHO.

And the author gets a few points for making the main character a capable, though flawed female. Although sometimes flawed, capable females are easier to write, and more easily accepted by readers.

A second helping for me with author David Kazzies' newest release "Anomoly". Much like my first experience with this author's offerings, "The Immune" (omnibus version), "Anomoly" was also a well paced read and an interesting story overall. I found the ending to be jarringly abrupt , but afterwords with some time to digest I can accept this as the author's device to leave you hanging intentionally to continue thinking about the protagonist's choices. I did find there to be strong influences of the stories and questions brought out in both the movies Interstellar and Arrival but the author's twist on the theme was interesting just the same without being derivative.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Couldn't put it down..
The characters were nicely developed & the storyline was interesting & thought provoking.
I'm kind of ambivalent about the ending...did she get back home or was time changed? Another book or novella to let us know?😉
I've read some of the author's books and he never disappoints..I would gladly recommend this book to anyone that likes a good read😀

Although the premise of the story is exciting, the author left me FLAT! He had a relatively good backstory but when he got to the scientific and specifics of the premise - it didn't go anywhere. He thru in some sex and violence but when I got to then end I thought the author just dropped the ball and could not figure how to end it.

This book is really different to others David Kazzie has written,,it took me a chapter to really get into ,,but after that I flew through it ,
It left me feeling that if we have any kind of extra terrestrial contact ,,would we be ready ,,or be our normal human selves th to destroy things we don't understand.
Really good book ,,give it a go

This story is not about the anomaly but about how it’s arrival affects three people. There is loss, fear, love and strife and the anomaly which distorts time. Not a sci-fi story

This story does not go the way you first imagine. An original and imaginative piece which definitely leaves you thinking it over. It is also an exploration of some of the darker sides of human nature and that for which we have no real understanding.

This would make a good film BUT is it the end or just the beginning a scary thought. The only problem I had was they didn't seem to eat they got thru plenty of water but food was not on the menu considering the great detail that was gone into food definitely was not thought about maybe the Anomaly had that effect on them.
