Why do men have to have all the fun? I’m not about the backward notion that men can sow their wild oats and women have to be pure and innocent. Why should we when it’s so much more fun to turn the tables?

I spend my nights tending bar at Aces and picking up a man when the mood strikes me. I don’t apologize for it and see no reason why I should.     Love how the author brought the characters to life! Phoenix isn’t shy about herself and isn’t afraid to get a men as a one night stand. Rhett is so different from the normal man she spends time with, but with just one look he is hooked. He knows that he has to take his time to win her but will he be able to discover what it takes to find their HEA? One click to find out in this swoon worthy, full of emotions romance must read.     Another Notch on the Bartop by Ember Davis is the first book in the multi-author Notchin' Boots series. I loved this book and really enjoyed reading it also. It is well written, has a great story-line and fabulous characters. Plus the hotness level is lava!!! Phoenix definitely lives up to her name as she burns hot and does what she wants, never having her wings singed. When Rhett sees her at the bar she works at when he is out with some coworkers for a drink he knows they are meant to be together. But after overhearing something said by her coworker behind the bar he knows he is going to have to come up with a plan to show her that he is there forever and not just a night. He is determined but careful, teasing her a little, drawing out the courtship, building trust, showing her how good he can make her feel....all until does not even realize that are actually in a relationship. The question is whether she will incinerate it all as she flies away or whether is will put away her talons and enjoy the love that is given.

    This book is a part of the Notchin’ Boots series and focuses on Rhett and Phoenix. Phoenix is a bartender at Aces and is completely unapologetic when it comes to owning her sexuality. She lives her life the way she sees fit, regardless of how society thinks she should be living it. She wants no parts of a committed relationship so she avoids them at all costs. She doesn’t allow people to get close and tends to keep everyone at a distance in order to protect herself from getting hurt in one way or another. The way she has lived her life has suited her fine for the most part, but that all changes when she meets Rhett. Rhett knows as soon as he sets his eyes on Phoenix that she is the one for him. He is determined to show his woman that they are meant to be together and that Phoenix is safe to trust him with her heart. He was so patient with her and knew that he had to take things slowly to break down her walls and show her that he was there to stay. This was such a great story and a great addition to the series.

    Rhett believes that he found the love of his life . And well at least she set his body on fire. He shows up every day and doesn't do anything but get a drink and observe. Good story. There is a patience in the story as it develops. There is steam. There is an epiphany on what it might be coming in their relationship from Phoenix. Who is the one who is a little skittish about letting someone in her life and heart. Definitely a realistic and reliable story. No cliffhanger.

    Phoenix doesn't do relationships and she's only with men one time and no repeats until she meets Rhett. Rhett fell for Phoenix from the moment he sees her at the bar. I loved these two together and I especially loved Phoenix and how she didn't care what people thought but when she realized Rhett was special things took a forever turn. This is a well written, sweet, and steamy love story the characters are likable and had great chemistry together. Another Notch on the Bartop is a great addition to the multi-author Notchin' Boots series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
