    First off this is how you write the follow-up to a great cliffhanger. Lucas was still a jerk but was getting better. I still loved him and how he was still the center of Brooklyn's world. He protected her and loved her so much that he made major mistakes because it was his first time being in a relationship. By the way it was such a wonderful thing seeing him being vulnerable protecting Brooklyn even sometime from himself.

    I really like part two a lot.

    Appeal is a keep you on the edge of your seat kind of book.

    Brooklyn and Lucas start as complete opposites. Throughout the second book you finally see a better side of Lucas.

    Just when you think you can breathe, Hayley throws another twist your way. I couldn’t read this book fast enough.

    I liked the book but I do have to say that there was way too much sexy time. I am in no way a prude but I like more content than them needing to have sex every chapter and that being the majority of the chapter. I wanted to see more emotional connection between Brooklyn and Lucas and less physical.

    You know what?  Luca has got to be one of the most objectional, arrogant leading men that I have read in a long time.  And although his edges were softened somewhat in this book compared to his behaviour in Discovery,  I still don't think that he was entirely redeemed for me.  But, given that Brooklyn's own descriptions of him are, at times, less than flattering, I think that was the point.   

    However you want to take him, he is a wonderfully observed and polarising character.

    And Brooklyn?  Well, she is a little in his shadow, but that works really well with their power dynamic.

    Overall, a frustrating yet enjoyable read.

    I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

    This second book in the duet was edgy and full of suspense and kept me turning page by page . Lucas is still cocky but has a softer approach , and the heat between the two is smoking hot.😍
