April's Fool (Northarbor Coven Book 2) Kindle Edition
Damon was thinking of leaving the hitman life behind when in a stroke of irony, a hit is ordered on him. Soon, nowhere is safe, not even the demon realm. He finds himself under the protection of Mori, a demon prince and his best friend's dad. Damon doesn't do love, but he can't deny they share a connection. How can he guard his heart from the sweet demon?
As a prince, his people love Mori, yet no one has caught his attention quite like Damon. The hitman is hiding more than a tragic past. Mori wants to learn his secrets and earn Damon's love.
It will take more than Mori and his bodyguard to protect Damon, but when the Northarbor Coven gets involved, everything becomes more complicated.
Was Damon a fool for thinking that Northarbor and a life with Mori could be his fresh start?
April's Fool is the second book in the Northarbor Coven series, with a hitman who loves to be creative in his work and a golden retriever type demon. Someone meets their end to a peanut allergy and there is some violence. Best read after January Blues.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2024This Book is full of surprises and action. I love Books that keep me on my toes. Damon the hit man is on the run. Meeting Mori was the icing on the cake. So many moving parts in this story. JAX STUART is creating a unforgettable Series. The Demons, Witches, Shifters all are back to lend a hand. Damon and Mori have more pages to fill. I can't wait!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS NORTHARBOR COVEN SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2024We met Damon and Mori in January Blues and I was so excited they were getting their own book. It certainly did not disappoint. Damon was the sweetest, most protective assassin and I wanted so much for him to find his person. Mori, that big cinnamon roll of a demon, was absolutely perfect for him. They were drawn to each other inexplicably from the start. They weren’t fated mates in the truest sense, but they fit so well it felt like they were. Yet again, there is a twist to the story that I didn’t see coming but wow did it make it all make sense and so much more intriguing. Cameos of my beloved Sweetwater pack and a lot more of our dear Cody & Toth made it even better. I cannot wait for Basil’s story in the next book!

So many great characters and plot in this. I'm so sad it ended. Guess I'll have to wait for the next book release.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2024I like having a continuous storyline. Different couples but ongoing conflicts. Damon and Mori are thrown together because of Cody. I also have enjoyed that they were chosen mates not fated mates. They are good for each other and hot together. I look forward to the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2024Of all of this author's books, this one is my least favorite. I had a harder time connecting with these characters, and I honestly can't say why. While it does come in as the second in the series, I feel like there is just enough recap of January Blues in the first couple of chapters, just from a different viewpoint, that a reader could read this as a standalone, but it's definitely better when read in order. There was a lot of plot going on in this book, so much that the romance takes a back seat. Not necessarily a bad thing, since the plot was fun and kept you guessing. I enjoyed the interaction between Mori and Cody, and Mor's parents are funny as heck. Damon is a sweet little assassin, and the things he learns about himself in this story make him even more fun to read. His relationship with Mori is fun, sweet, and sassy. Definitely worth the read, looking forward to more.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2025I loved this book. Mori and Damon's relationship development was well done and the story was very enjoyable. Seeing characters from book 1 in their own story is great too. I like how this is connected to January Blue’s. Can't wait to read the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2024This book is ok. Not horrible, not great. Mori was supposed to be flighty and kind of ridiculous, I think, but his character wasn't written well in that respect. He was fine, but just didn't come across how I think the author meant for him to. Damon was fine. Although there was so much of the book hinting that he was something other than fully human without anyone actually bothering to research what he was that it was annoying. Overall the book dragged, to me. I kind of assumed it wouldn't be too much to my tastes as I only vaguely remembered reading the first book when this one showed on my recommnedations and I hadn't put this one on my reading list which should have clued me in that I didn't love the first one.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2024The two main characters in this book are from book one in this series and I waited ever so patiently for their story and absolutely not disappointed. I kinda felt sorry for the hitman originally in book one cause he fell for someone he couldn’t have but I’m really glad he finds happiness and a home with his chosen demon mate. Can’t wait for the next book in this awesome series!

I don't say this often but this book would have been better even longer! It has so much plot and so many cool characters I want to learn about! Can't wait for the next.
