A Sense of Purpose (Perceptions Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 231 ratings

Flora Latimer, companion to the increasingly eccentric Dowager Countess of Swindon, has swiftly made herself indispensable to the entire family. In so doing she must fight her highly inappropriate attraction towards Luke Beranger, the current earl. Flora revels in the freedom that separation from her puritanical and overbearing father affords her, allowing her natural spirituality to come to the fore.
When Miranda Defoe, a recently orphaned neighbour, returns to the district, Flora’s sixth sense compels her to protect the young woman from the Coopers, a family which has latched onto Miranda for her inheritance. As the relationship between Miranda and Luke’s brother Charlie progresses beyond their platonic childhood friendship, Miranda’s independence and strength of character puts her innocence at risk.
It seems that the Coopers will stop at nothing to gain control of Miranda’s fortune. Can Flora and the Berangers come to her aid before her honour is compromised and before the growing threat to her life becomes a reality…

I’m a British author, brought up on the Isle of Wight and share my life with a handsome rescued Spanish Podenco called Markos.

I’ve had over one hundred books published, ranging from Regency romance, (my first love), to contemporary women’s fiction and marine crime mysteries.

When not writing I walk miles, make half-hearted attempts to retain flexibility by attending yoga classes, read other people’s tomes…oh, and I’m on a one woman mission to keep the wine trade profitable!

Soliman has created, or recreates, the world of Victorian England, and peopled it with a cast of delightful characters. There is witty dialogue, as real sense of relationship twisty mysteries and valiant women, beautifully wrote, it a few typos that the proofreader should have picked up. Highly recommended. I. An Impatient. For the next book in the series and cant wait to see how the UST between Flora and Luke will be resolved. their burgeoning relationship has been superbly depicted with tenderness and respect. Defining characteristics. They deserve a HEA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Second instalment of a fine series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 29, 2018
The beginning of the first and second book are only four weeks apart so perhaps it is not surprising that the main romance seems to be a slow burn. However in this story we have a wedding and a proposal along with dishonourable behaviour so things are coming along. Do we, I wonder, have to wait until Luke's five siblings are all married before he will give in to his feeling for Flora? These books are fine as standalones but reading them as a series is much more enjoyable. My only annoyance is the number of typos and I do wish the proofreading would improve.

I have really enjoyed both this and the first novel in this series and hope there will be further books to follow. However I agree with Marybythesea regarding the many grammatical and typo errors. It appears that proofreading is nonexistent when it comes to ebooks as all I have read are full of mistakes. Such a pity.

a day to myself to read this in one go. I am hoping there will shortly be a Book 3 so that I can follow Flora's further exciting perceptions. Cannot wait.
