About the Author

Sherry Logsdon was born in Grayson County, Kentucky. She had three children by
the time she was 22. She then went on to pursue a college degree and graduated
from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors of Science in Education and
taught special education for twenty years. She also taught English—specifically
writing—at Elizabethtown Community Technical College for one year. She now
resides in Eastview with her husband Tim and their chocolate lab, Jayce. In addition
to her three grown children, Ryan, Kyle, and Amy, Sherry has three grandchildren,
Kyler, Kylee, and Kyndle.
Sherry has had a fascination with insane asylums for many years, and began
researching their history. One goal she has is to visit every asylum that is still
standing in the United States. Her research and interest played a major role in
writing her novel Asylum, as did the healing she found in working through struggles and expressing her emotions through journaling and writing poetry.
