About the author

Stephanie Shea is a best-selling contemporary romance author and recovering perfectionist. Her favorite things include bingeing TV shows, and creating worlds where diversity is standard, competency is sexy, and no character is too queer, broken, or sensitive. Then, there’s the wanderlust.
She lives in Mexico City, where she's probably fixating on her next book, stumbling through Spanish phrases, and grabbing a michelada every chance she gets.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI don't know how Stephanie Shea does it! Another short story, but you really get invested in these characters. There's history, emotion, chemistry, love - everything you want in a romance bundled in a few short chapters. Again, the story is really good and sooooo worth the read, but it will leave you wanting more!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI enjoy this author's writing style, but just as in her short story, Apt. 103, I wanted more. Both Blake, the photographer and Drew, the model, were very likable characters with a history. This was a very fast burn in a short amount of time. I'm anxious to try a full length novel from this author to see how she can really develop her characters and create interesting settings, but Avalanche is a good, quick read!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2020Format: KindleIt was nice, but I don't really like the imbalance between the two protagonists. I feel like they shouldn't be together at all; one is too self-centered and oblivious in a harmful way, and the other one, too good to be true, even in fiction. So, that hampered my enjoyment of the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this novelette. I love the connection between Blake and Drew. Blake the photographer and Drew the model. I just loved how the story was unraveling. From Blake saying no to a nude shoot of Drew. Drew not settling for a no and goes looking for Blake even though they haven’t had any contact in five years. Blake not able to look at Drew since she went and got married on her. But she never told Drew how she felt. Drew who needed to have this connection with Blake especially for the shoot but for their relationship. Drew who had secrets of her own. When these two meet again, it is hot! Loved this story. I am starting to enjoy Stephanie Shea very much!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseStephanie Shea has delivered another stunning short story. Blake and Drew have chemistry that leaps off the page. Fashion photographer Blake suddenly needs to photograph the one woman she's not sure she can handle seeing again: her once best friend and love of her life Drew. When Drew got married to a man she broke Blake's heart, but are the years apart and heartache too much for them to overcome? Shea is a master at writing sentences that spark and ignite. Don't miss this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book is so good. It is a very quick read that leaves you wanting more. Blake and Drew are amazing characters. This could easily be a full size novel with plenty of steamy scenes. Enjoy this short look into their lives.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2023Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis microfiction is a tasty treat with juicy succulent bits and pieces. It's well written and engaging. The words inspire visual imagery from the layout of homes to clothes to the characters themselves. When I was done, I was satisfied, and I hope you enjoy this delicacy too.
Happy Reading

3.0 out of 5 stars Some times people are just plain dumb and waste precious time in life
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAt first I wasn't feeling Drew, she felt a bit flippant. So about half way through the story I was just thinking Blake should really move on, it's a waste of time, but a few paragraphs this I kinda did a 180 when learning what Drew had to say. So suddenly I'm drew/Blake team since I was a little baby. I quite enjoyed it, and being this short it felt almost like a tease. I wouldn't mind getting to see more of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb second chance romance
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMy first foray into the world of this fine author and I'm hooked. A mistake years before is corrected inevitably as one person craves the opportunity while the other tries to keep the distance but ultimately knows its futile and all it took was being naked in a purely professional manner

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent short story
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is an excellent short story. Blake and Drew have a lot of history but 5 years ago wrong choices were made. In this story they get to be put right.
