This book ran me through the whole emotional scale from start to finish. I really liked the way Alison blossomed while Carson is the "Poor little rich boy" with a twist. The storyline is well thought out and actually kept me guessing as to... (Sorry, this is a non-spoiler review). The steady pace and little hiccups kept this book entertaining. This is a mature readers only read as there are some steamy bedroom scenes.

    This is the second installment in a series, but can be read as a stand alone book. Carson is a rich bear shifter. He is a member of the Fated Hearts Club. It is a place for shifters to meet their mates. He's not really interested in meeting his mate, but happy to meet all the women. Alison is coming out of a bad relationship and is new in town. She goes to the Fated Hearts Club and meets Carson. She turns him down because he is a player. The next day she finds out he is her new boss. The more the two work together, the closer they become. The story is good and very entertaining. The sexy time are hot. I look forward to reading more by this author.

You just have to go get the book to see for your self what happens next. This was a really good read. I wonder if this is Cecilia's style of writing in all of her Novels. If so, I'm sold.

    Oh my! What a great tale Ms. Lane has spun with this story of Alison and Carson. And lets not forget Boyd! From being lied to, down and out and harassed, Alison is in desperate need of a fresh start. Hence, her move from one end of the country to the other, hoping to find some peace, and if she's lucky, a true love. Carson is getting ready to marry off his younger sister, for whom he's been responsible for since the death of their father when she was not more than a young child. But her "outlaws" have set a couple of stipulations, one of them being that Carson bring a "plus one" to the wedding, and that it not be someone from his club. His playboy reputation proceeds him, and even though he's wealthy in his own right, he's not "old money" like they are, and he certainly doesn't play by the same rules. But what he wants and what his bear wants, for once, don't seem to jive...not when he meets the curvy Alison. Will she be able to trust this philandering playboy? Or will he turn out to be just another lier, just like her ex?
    A beautiful love story complete with pain and pleasure. Definitely worth the read!

There were some editing issues and while the ending was good, it seemed a bit rushed. Also, maybe I'm just mean but I think the Beringers needed some comeuppance. Overall i would recommend this book.

We have a heroine with a sad past, a hero who is a bossy bear, and the highs and lows that come to a point where we are unsure if there will be a happy ending or not. No more about the storyline, you will have to read it yourself. Most enjoyable book.
