Hudson Vaughn has a plan to set his mate free. First, he must convince Mara they're fated to be together. Then, he needs to convince her he'll protect her from every threat. Even the shifter-traffickers that murdered her brother.

What starts as a plan to infiltrate the hunters' auction, becomes something so much more. Mara poses as his handler, but she seems to enjoy her role a little too much. The entire evening, she delights in snapping his leash and full-on flirting with him. None of that was part of the plan.

    I gave this four stars because it’s the last book of this series and it seemed to drag. Saying that this was good. Hudson got his mate finally. They had to jump thru hoops but he finally got her. Mara was able to track down the person that killed her brother but she still felt like a traitor to her kind. Hudson was always there reminding her of her worth. Good read.

    Untamed Mate is the sixth book in the Shifters of Bear’s Den series and I would definitely recommend reading the previous books first to get a full understanding of what all is going on! Hudson knows that Mara is his mate, if only he could convince her to accept him. Mara’s past is dragging her down into a spiral of guilt and despair, and while she wishes she could have Hudson, she pushes him away to keep him safe. When her life is threatened, Hudson saves her, only for them to go on a wild adventure to save other shifters from the hunters, including children. With their time together, Hudson hopes to show Mara how great of a team they are, but will Mara be able to forgive herself from her past and accept his love, or will she sacrifice herself to save everyone?

    My heart! Ms. Lane is a master at pulling all of the strings attached to my heart and making me feel so much for these characters. Mara sometimes seemed so broken, just destroyed by her own actions, and refused to see any good in what she’s done. Hudson knew all about the darkness and all he wanted was to show Mara the light again, to fight for them, and to have a chance. I absolutely loved them together! Fighting the bad guys, arguing, showing such strength and courage, saving lives... they were a fantastic team. The plot definitely caught my attention as one thing lead to another and their adventure just became even more dangerous! The ending, though, I just about swooned with happiness! There’s action, drama, hope, love, passion, growth, and some amazing shifters all banding together to fight the bad guys - what else could you want in a book and series! Fantastic book, I absolutely loved reading it!

    I found myself skipping pages due to the repetitiveness of the inner dialogue. The reason I enjoy reading shifter books is because certain authors make the books about family, loyalty and overcoming / surviving life challenges. My issue with this one are some of the choices the author made to move the story along and it’s repetitiveness. Gosh I hate the repetitiveness of the thoughts and sentences. Okay I got it you said that in the story like four time already. I also dislike that Mara was “not the sharpest tool in the shed “. Seriously she thought the woman would release the prisoners if she gave herself up. The story would have flowed better is she was just caught. It just made the story not believable.

    I received an ARC but I also bought this as I have every one of Cecelia Lane's books about Bearden. This story is about Hudson and Mara, a bear and lioness. He believes she is his mate. She believes no one can love her because of her crimes. The human hunters captured her after they killed her brother. They forced her to find, manipulate, and otherwise lead/trap shifters and bring them to the hunters. She is in jail at the beginning of the book because she was trying to get her brother's mate and children away from the hunters and she caused a fire.
    Hunter wants to fight the hunters, being them down, release the captured shifters, and get his mate released from jail. She's determined on distancing herself from any who care about her because she feels she doesn't deserve them. She can't be saved. Mara is attacked while in custody and Hudson comes to her rescue and runs away with her, with his alpha's blessing. This couple has major trust issues, mostly on Mara's part. Hudson can't be sure what she'll do next as she's never had anyone to rely on! They are on the same side but often at cross purposes! Will they ever get close to an HEA?

Hudson and Mara both have their own demons to fight, but when her life is threatened, he will do whatever it takes to save her. Forced to run from their enemies, haunted by the past, its going to take courage, trust and love to find the end they both deserve. A page turner that leaves you with a great sense of satisfaction.
