Bound by Blood (Vigilante Book 5) Kindle Edition
The outer colonies are in revolt.
One man will make himself Emperor.
The Commonwealth must stop him…or fall.
In the chaos after the death of President Barnes and the revelation of his betrayals, Brad Madrid has been imprisoned because of his relationship to the pirate known as the Phoenix. His relationship takes on a new edge when the Phoenix declares himself Lord Protector of the Outer Worlds—the unquestioned dictator of a nation born to wage war against the Commonwealth.
Released from his prison and drafted into the Commonwealth Navy, Brad is sent out to wage war against his last living relative. As his own home, Jupiter, tries to step aside from the conflict, he finds himself with a sparse list of allies—and facing a far more powerful enemy than he’d ever feared.
The Phoenix promised that he would be Emperor. As years of hidden work comes to fruition, Brad isn’t sure he can stop him. He only knows one thing: brothers or not, he will defy the Phoenix to his last dying breath!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2019I loved the series and Brad along with many other characters were great.
The only item I would change would’ve been to add another 15-20 pages to the ending to wrap up a few loose ends.
Otherwise truly enjoy both of these authors work.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2023More twists than a roller coaster. Skillfully directed action keeps you on the edge of your seat. Intricate portral of the fight brings the fates of our heroes to life. Even knowing the good guys have to win doesn't diminish the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2022These two make an incredible storytelling team. This series has been a treat to read, and truly look forward to them teaming up again on future projects. Thanks for the ride Terry and Flynn I can't wait to hop aboard again whenever your two collaborate again!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2019I liked the pacing and plotting and characters, dialog, and drama.
One characteristic glitch I've noticed is that briefings and orders are given during crunch times, at the last minute, for no reason, instead of giving people time to pick plans apart for improvement or proper preparation.
Finally, the ending was not bad, it was logical and in-character, but it reminds me of Prince Victor Davion's choices in the BattleTech novels--his repeated refusal to accept the burden of responsibility resulted in tragedy after tragedy.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2022Great military space opera. Intrigue, betrayal, space battles galore. Good characters and exciting action, what more do you need in a space opera!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2019Obviously, this is book 5 in a series. I think you should go back and start from with the first, or possibly the third book. If you like those you will like this. If it is not your thing you will know that too.
I really enjoyed this book and I'd love to spoil it for you but I'm trying not to.
I really didn't expect the ending ... at least two different ways. I hope you enjoy the twists at the end as much as I did!
I received a free electronic advanced reader's copy in exchange for my unbiased review. It is pretty much a lost cause. I am a huge fan of Glynn Stewart. I just realized that thanks to my work situation I typically end up skipping on about $500 in revenue to read his books. Anyway, these are always a great deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great conclusion to a wonderful collaboration by these authors
I received a free electronic advanced reader's copy in exchange for my unbiased review.
I've followed this series collaboration quite diligently and it's had numerous twists I didn't see coming. I have found the pacing to be excellent and the characters to be likeable. The standard of writing has been high and I've not noticed any glaring errors as you sometime find.
Onto this specific book; I read it in one sitting, following straight up with buying it. It's a great paced ending to the series and I've enjoyed reading it a great deal. It's a good space opera and has been well delivered in a prompt time frame. I'm happy to recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi novel.

I couldn't put it down, it was great. Then it ends
Just like that.
I wish it had an ending worth all the build up.
