Bitten By Fate (Regent's Park Pack Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 153 ratings

Daryl plays with fire and gets burned by fate…

Former Primrose Pack member Jason Black happily accepted his role as beta in the new Regent’s Hill pack, knowing that merging the two was the best decision for everyone involved. Daryl Easton is loyal and honest but wary of change. The joining of the two packs wasn’t his preferred outcome, and he’s struggling to see all the newcomers as pack, including those now working alongside him.

When the alpha council proposes a two-week pack-building course to help improve troubled relationships, Jason and Daryl are sent along as backup. It soon becomes clear that the unit members and their betas won’t be the only ones taking part in tasks—Daryl and Jason will have challenges of their own to complete.

With the full moon adding to the rising tension, emotions are volatile, and tempers flare among the unit members. Jason and Daryl become closer than either of them expected, but with such opposing views on relationships, a messy outcome seems inevitable unless Daryl can let go of the past.

What a great ending to one of my all-time favorite shifter series. I've been dying to read Jason's story as soon as we meet him in the earlier book. This book exceeded my expectations for it and I wes unable to put it down. I'm sad to see this series end but I can't wait to see what Annabelle come up with next.

    *nananananananananana* What’s that you say?
This is the last book? *covers ears* I can’t hear you……
Seriously though, I am devastated that this ride has come to an end. This series has brought me incredible joy over the last few years. I’ve always held my shifter bar high into the sky and Jacobs soars over the top every time. She has the uncanny ability to bring the human and their wolf to the page with seamless perfection. I can’t stress enough how much I appreciate her execution and coalescence of the man with the wolf. I want the wisdom of the man and the instinct of the wolf. I want to experience the combined wit, devotion and commitment between the two. I want to see the wolf in the man and then the man in the wolf. I don’t ever want to forget that I’m reading a shifter book. Regent’s Park Pack is all of that and more. This is one of those series that picks up steam and builds as it continues. I have loved all of them and thankfully, Jason and Daryl did not diminish my hot streak.

What's to like: I was thrilled things picked up where we left off in book five. The pack’s units have a bit of interference and can’t seem to finalize their secure integration. Despite every attempt Cam has made, he can’t force the trust he craves. The council can see that this Alpha could use a helping hand and set up a bonding boot camp of sorts. Hoping to defuse any extreme temper flares, Cam has requested two extra Beta’s join the exercise. Daryl and Jason are the “lucky” chosen beta’s and realize after the fact, their Alpha has an ulterior motive. Perhaps they could use a bit of quality time together too. And if Cam had any inkling that his betas would be a well-suited pair, well, let’s just pretend that’s just a happy coincidence. If I had any grumbles, which are few and very far between, it would be…I wanted an explosive grand finale. This was *sniff* the last act and I wanted the same crushing climax that I felt in book 3 and 4. I expected things to go out in a blaze of glory and that didn’t quite happen. Alas, I still adored it and have been mourning this conclusion since I read those final pages.

What's to love: As always, Jacobs delivers an imperfect (yet, totally perfect) pair with a feisty and fiery seduction. Daryl has his ‘reasons’ for not wanting to find his mate. He strongly believes mates are not a blessing but a curse. He has no interest in bonding or even looking for a potential bond. When the opportunity presents itself for some sexual relief with Jason, he figures a little bit of play never hurt anybody. But they cross the ‘playing’ line before he realizes it and he can’t believe he allowed himself to fall into the trap of a possible mate. Yes, he firmly regards bonding as punishment and he’s furious that his fun time with Jason evolved into something…more. But if there is anything he learned at pack bonding camp, everything happens for a reason. Jason tugged on my heart and I was desperate for him to have all his wishes granted. I loved the games. I loved the drama filled entertainment. I loved how destiny played her hand. *sigh* I loved…them. And isn’t that the best part? I’m so grateful we had some time with the rest of the pack, or most of them. I’m going to miss them…so much.

Beware of: Fate plays her hand again and I was desperate to watch everything unfold. This is not a stand-alone and should be read in proper order. A wicked wolf attacks and does his best to sabotage. And a stubborn beta will probably leave you a bit grumpy…for a little while. Fortunately, he pulls his head out of his tail!

This book is for: Regent Park Pack fans will definitely want to embark on this final action-packed stretch of this journey. This was an adventure I will never forget. Thanks for sharing this amazing family with us Annabelle, they will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Bitten By Fate is the conclusion to the RPP series and a fitting one with the pack finally becoming whole again after all the upheaval of incorporating the Primrose pack.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the pack building exercises and seeing how they let old grievances go to once again become a fully integrated pack under Cam. Ms. Jacobs did a great job of involving some of the previous and beloved characters. Alec is and always will be my favorite and I loved his part in this story with his ubiquitous grumpiness. 😍

Daryl and Jason are the focus of this installment and they too are bridging the divide between the packs in a sense with Jason being a former beta of the Primrose pack and Daryl having been a trusted beta in Cam's pack for a while now.

They having seemingly been singled out by the Alpha Council to engage in a series of trust exercises which appear rather more a thinly disguised matchmaking agenda than pack building but it did build the tension between them.

I liked them both individually, but I never really invested in them as a couple and I thought the push/pull was overlong, though I did understand Daryl's perspective for the most part.

Nevertheless, if you're a fan of the series then Bitten By Fate is a worthwhile read.

I can't believe this awesome series has come to an end. I am such a big fan and I'm really gonna miss this great world that the author created. To say I have read and loved each and every one of the books in this series would be a small lie...since I have skipped Bitten by Her, but other than that one, I did !!

I don't think it's smart to read these books as stand alones. You should really start at the beginning and get to know this world. You will be very confused if you just jump in somewhere in the middle. So if you haven't yet...go and one-click book 1, Bitten by Mistake, you won't be sorry. They just keep getting better and better.

This time it's Darryl and Jason's turn and I was very curious how this would play out, since I really didn't know Darryl all that well and Jason, he came from the other pack, Primrose Pack...

It is common knowledge around the Regent’s Hill Pack, that something needs to be done about (some of) the former Primrose Pack members. The joining of the two packs hasn't been smooth, to say the least, and there are still some members refusing to play nice. So the Alpha Council has come up with a great idea....team building...or in this case Pack building. Maybe working as a team and relying on each other will get the spirit going.

Even though Jason and Daryl are not the Beta's of the members that are going on this little trip, they are sent along as back up...and to do a little team building of their own.

And boy do they... With the two of them sharing a room and the full moon nearly rising, these two hit it off big time ;)

But while Jason is a bit of a romantic at heart, and wants nothing more than someone to bond with...Daryl is just looking for a sexy hook-up. Bonds, scare the shit out of him. So maybe getting up close and very personal isn't the smartest thing to do for them.. ??

I really enjoyed this one. I loved the teambuilding and the interactions with all the other members... It was funny, sweet and hot and even a bit emotional at times. Jason and Daryl were awesome characters I think, and they were a match made in heaven.

I am gonna miss these guys but thankfully I will always have my re-reads. I have loved them all, though Bitten by Desire is still my favorite I think...I'm gonna keep my eye on this author though and hope she will come up with something new that will blow me away again.

I highly recommend this series !!

    This series started out on.
Book one was cute, book two was pretty basic and book three was charming.
Then it took a long walk off a short pier into the Marianna trench.

It feels like the author forgot to keep track of much of anything, with key characters missing from entire chapters and scenes and the scenarios and plot points held about as much water as a wet paper bag.

    "Spoilers ahead"

Daryl's entire reason for not wanting to bond...
Was because his parents had a normal non bonded mates marriage and the mom had a potential bond with someone else and it broke his parents' marriage up.

    Which.. makes no sense.
Like, you would think he would ONLY be interested in people he could bond with in order to avoid that situation but no, he just wants to be forever alone... And then decides to get into bed with the golden retriever, poster boy for bonded matches.

    Because that makes sense.

Also, the earlier books had this wild, possessive territorial pull that had mates flinging people around like rag dolls to get to their boi and the only flinging that happened in this book was Daryl being flung into a tree.

Because the author seems to think the only way people can truely choose to bond is a near death experience.

    Seriously.
    Every book.
Its a good thing this series is based in the UK because no health insurance company would ensure them with the amount of dudes on death beds this series has but I have to say death by trebuchet was the only genuinely surprising part of this story.

Somehow Daryl has to climb onto one end of a giant seesaw while his group counter weight the other side with ropes, the ropes break and Daryl is yeeted into the atmosphere like the first dog in space.

I think the worst part is that I STILL HAVE NO GD CLUE WHAT THE POINT OF THE SUICIDE SEESAW OF SATAN WAS EVEN FOR.

To be a fly on the wall of that scene's composition.
I want to kill a man by impaling him on a tree branch.
    How can I accomplish this?
The world's largest set of scales.

    Listen.
I am turning forty next month and there isn't enough time left in my entire life to counter balance what I have wasted on this series.

I hesitated to read the first book so many times and I wish I had listened to my instincts but apparently mine are human and not as good as a shifter's so I was made to SUFFER.
