Blood & Bones: Ozzy (Blood Fury MC® Book 9) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 2,567 ratings

They call him The Great Oz, but for Ozzy, sometimes life isn’t so great...

Over twenty years ago, at seventeen, the Blood Fury’s colors were inked onto Ozzy’s back.
But when the club imploded, he was one of the few who survived.
Throughout his life, the Original has made mistakes.
Too many to count.
Most didn’t matter.
Until the last one.
The one he regrets.
The one that left a mark.
Once he realized he screwed up, it was too late.
Now his urge to hit the road is strong, to go back to being a nomad tempting.
Recent events proved he never should’ve come back since being a rolling stone’s in his blood.
Because back then, he’d only joined the Blood Fury for one reason and one reason only...
Revenge.
Now, once again, nothing’s holding him in Manning Grove any longer.
Until someone tied to his past appears.
She makes him reevaluate his life choices, in both the past and for the future.
However, will he learn from his latest mistake, or is he destined to make the same one all over again?
Or will his choice be made for him once the truth is revealed?

Note: Blood & Bones: Ozzy is the ninth book in the Blood Fury MC series. As always, this book has no cheating, no cliffhanger, and has an HEA. It’s best to read this series in order. It’s also highly recommended to read Crash: A Dirty Angels MC/Blood Fury MC Crossover before Ozzy’s story.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book since Ozzy seemed like such a b@stard in the past books. Especially his relationship with Lizzy. But my gosh—- I adored him in this book. We saw a side of him with Shay that I never would have believed even existed. He was so sweet, and gentle with her from the minute he meets her.

I loved Shay and I REALLY loved that she was the polar opposite of Lizzy. I loved that Ozzy felt things with her that he never felt for anyone else. He seemed to recognize almost immediately that she was different. I loved their story and how it evolved. I also loved the banter between him and all his club brothers-it was hilarious.

The twist towards the end was utterly gut wrenching when he had to tell Shay. My heart broke more for him than it did for her. Especially when he goes to her and pours his heart out. I was sobbing. Mostly for him because he was in such pain. I never knew Ozzy was capable of feeling so much. I was sad for her too but I just wanted her forgive him because after everything that he and they had been through, I just wanted him to find happiness. Anyway, they work towards their HEA. Even though it wasn’t immediate, it was still very sweet and emotional. I truly loved them together.

    SPOILERS

There was one thing that I didn’t like. At the very end, Ozzy hoping that Shay might one day be open to do “other things” meaning a threesome was a huge turnoff for me. He said he was never willing to share her, but he wants her to share him?? I still loved the book though.

I need to start this review with a question that I have not been able to answer. How??? How am I now in love with Ozzy, The Great Oz? It’s Jeanne St. James’s fault she created him and now everything I thought I felt for him has changed 🤦🏾‍♀️. I mean he was a serious jerk in Crash and although what he said wasn’t right it wasn’t necessarily wrong either, but his actions had me hating him so going into this book I pitied the woman he ended up with.
Shay was adorable in her awkward way. Childhood bullying caused her to pull herself into a shell and even in her thirties she still needed assurance and support and Ozzy turned out to be the perfect one for the job.
It was at this point that I could sense the climatic event slowly approaching and man when it hit it rocked me even though looking back the signs were all there. The author left just enough suspense to keep me enthralled while throwing in hot sex and beautiful dialogue to get me turning the pages. I can admit this is one of my favorite books in this series and I’m still slightly baffled by this 😂

I definitely recommend this book, but you should read Crash first to understand all that we have gone through with The Great Oz. Dodge is up next and I need to know how the sexy biker came to be!

Loved the story. Was anxious for Ozzy’s story after reading Crash. Heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. My biggest issue? If you’re going to write a biker story- know your bikes. 1%ers don’t ride Sportsters. Every time the Iron 883 was mentioned, I cringed. It was one of the least powerful bikes Harley makes and Ozzy sure as hell wouldn’t be bragging about it. I rode an Iron 883 and it was like a souped up dirt bike. I upgraded to a 1200 Iron. And I’m a woman and not a biker. It would not have been so bad if it wasn’t mentioned numerous times. If you didn’t know, it wouldn’t affect the story for you, but for me it most certainly did. In the end, glad Ozzy got the girl (but it wasn’t because of his Harley 😂)

Ozzy's book was unexpected. When Shay showed up at the motel there was an instant attraction. Little did he know what was to unfold. Ozzy finally found his true soulmate but will his past keep them apart. He lost his mother at 15 and promised revenge. Shay's father disappeared in thin air. When the two worlds collide and the truth is revealed is their love enough for Shay to forgive? I was a little disappointed in Shay's reaction. Ozzy's mother was killed and he got his revenge. Yes two wrongs don't make a right but Shay had to see the chain of events started with her own father. This was a very emotional read especially when you know Ozzy's personality. Loved it.

    Wow!!!

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this latest instalment in the BFMC series but I am blown away. Ozzy has not been one of my favorites, most especially so after the events in the previous book, Crash. He’s been an unapologetic selfish manwhore jerk from the series beginning with no signs of regret….until Crash & his Sunny ride off in the sunset together.

Shay is a lovely woman who I identify with in so many ways down deep into my being. She was so beautifully written. You just keep rooting for her to win through the whole book.

I loved that this book is written about 2 seasoned people rather than a younger couple. Great reminder that it is never too late. I’d love a surprise baby in a future book for these 2 because I think everyone would love the ensuing panic scene from the Great & Powerful Oz.

I genuinely laughed in so many parts of this book from baby Dyna’s shirt to near the end with mention of muscle creams and not wanting to strain muscles. Totally ugly cried in a lot of parts too. Another amazing and beautifully crafted book from Ms. St. James!!!! And looking forward to the next, especially after that peek at the end of the book.

I was super excited to see what would happen to Ozzy after losing Liz.
Once they suspected Shay had the potential to be the daughter of an original, instead of pondering who it might of been based off a government name, I don’t know why they didn’t just ask Shay if she had a picture of her father. To me it seems like that would have been the easiest route.
Once the truth was revealed I was happy the author made Oz grovel and not just shove the infraction under the rug and say all was forgiven. It made the story more realistic for me.

But my favorite scene was from the garage when Rev admitted to bookmarking male p0rn on Dutches phone, then later Dutch asked Ozzy to fix it and he changed it to shemales 😂 I dunno how he did it with a straight face

This is the type of MC book that has me coming back again and again for bikers and MC romance. Ozzy or the Great Oz is old school biker: former 1%er, decades as a nomad, patched as a teenager…all things associated from the drugs, sex (“I’ll try anything once” sex), and bids. But…and this is a huge, but, he wants his brotherhood more than he wants his freedom on the road. Torn between his nomadic life and the stability and curiosity of what Trip wanted to build…Ozzy returned to the Blood Fury as only 1 of 2 Originals. He and Dutch are hilarious (only 15 years apart for these two guys) and both are harden rough and tumbled bikers. But knowing what we know from Crash (previous book in crossover between two series)…Ozzy is restless. Enter Shay. A great book with twists and turns and most of all: Ozzy’s come to Jesus moment as he finally at 40 learns to let someone in. And dang girl…did you get in!!!

    I really enjoyed this.
Loved Ozzy. But loved him in Crash too. Just a great character. History, although tough, was a great backstory.
    Also really liked Shay.
    Bravo.
    Awesome addition to the series.
