About the author

I’m a husband, father, and author privileged to live next door to the Atchafalaya Swamp Basin in Louisiana. I love good food and passing a good time and I also love writing realistic love stories with plenty of passion.
When I'm not writing, I'm helping the wife with the endless job of raising our six kids and homesteading on our three acres of heaven on the bayou.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2015We all have demons, so of us are able to control it and others let it control them. We tend to give them the power to tell us if we are capable of loving others and if we are worthy of love in return.
In this installment Sade is struggling with his past interfering with his present and he is losing all hope for the future. He feels he needs to protect Mercy from this beast inside of him and the only way to do that is by letting her go, pushing her away. Meanwhile, Mercy has made her mind up to fight for the man she loves, the man she knows is deep inside of Sade. She is holding on tight to him and no amount of pushing is loosening that grip.
This conclusion to Sade & Mercy's journey will drag you through every emotion you can imagine. There were moments where Sade was vulnerable and my heart broke into, only to be laughing a few minutes later and then ready to throw my Ipad in the next. The constant push and pull exhausting, maddening and invigorating all at once. I often found myself expecting them to give up, thinking they were beyond help and then cheering them on and celebrating their successes. There were a couple of scenes that will resonate with mothers, it will break your heart and leave you gasping for air. I was literally clutching my chest and trying to keep the tears in and then I was fist pumping and screaming celebratory obscenities.
I really enjoyed Sade's character in this book, we were able to see him raw, exposed and vulnerable. You could literally feel the turmoil he was going through and the inner struggle with that beast within. Mercy's character was hit or miss at times until you see that she is struggling with her own demons and just trying to break through to Sade by any means necessary. She may appear to be pushy, whiny and weak in some places but she is resilient, strong and she is fighting a battle that is outside of her comfort zone.
The scenes were hot, the story flowed well, there were twists in there that I didn't expect and the author placed humorous, light-hearted scenes in the story at the appropriate times to give you an emotional reprieve. I felt like most of the scenes were realistically portrayed with normal reactions to those scenarios which you don't always find in the fictional world.
As always, my favorite quotes
"Why would God ...his voice trembled out with several gasps, "send me...an angel?" He turned to her, so confused, his bloodshot eyes, pleading for answers. "Do you think...." his voice barely whispered now, "that maybe....He made a mistake?" ~Sade
"I freaking want to do things Mercy. I want your pleasure, but God, I want your freaking Pain." ~Sade (expletives replaced)
"You get pleasure from pain...," "And I'm going to teach you how to get pain...from my pleasure." ~Mercy

- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2015I usually preface my reviews with the fact I write based on my emotions, how the book made me feel, etc..I'm not going to write a thesis about the story--YOU need to experience it. If you enjoy any books I've loved, you will love this. I always read other people's reviews that are like minded...so there you go. Now, let's begin.
HoooooolEEEE crap!!!!---Possible Spoilers---
I was SOOO excited to finally get the moment to sit down and read the conclusion. I sure wasn't prepared for the ride that evil Lucian Bane had in store for me. He comes across as such a great guy! Well....I beg to differ....
I expect, like the monsters under your bed, that Abraham is going to come out of nowhere. That doesn't happen--quite the opposite. That's all I'll say about him but I absolutely love what Kade did for Sade during their Abe time. I was sickened with the description and after having the AHA moment, it took me by surprise. Lucian DOES have a soul AND a heart!!!
Mercy--Lord have Mercy...but wow. What she does to convince Sade he is worthy. The patience, the fear, the risks! You did good!! Love her techniques as well. Very sensual. What a great conclusion to such a dark relationship, or what started out that way.
I love that there aren't 100 characters that you have to keep track of who's who in the zoo type of book. The characters are all important and intricate to the storyline. They are tentacles of an octopus to draw you into their arms. I love that!
The last part of the story was NO EFFING WAY! SUPER surprise and I won't spoil it or the ending. It really took me a couple of hours after I read the book to decompress. It's a LOT to absorb. The level of abuse brought onto Sade in his childhood, both he and Mercy the pain and suffering but for them to heal each other. It kinda takes a lot out of you but it's SOOOO worth it!! The world isn't filled with daisies and princesses. There is darkness in the world. Just turn on your news. But when you can see the light and come OUT of that darkness, like what Lucian does, it's worth the journey.
I did feel, after I read this, I needed to go get a coloring book and color unicorns and ponies and make sparkly things!!!
I LOVED the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2016These books are not to everyone's taste, I read the entire series and I loved them all but this last book in the series in particular was a bit problematic for me. I'm struggling to write this review because, at the end of the day, I felt this was a satisfying conclusion to the series, but some parts of this book seemed to be drama and poor choices just for the sake of conflict and not in away that made sense to my understanding of the characters and their journey so far.
My basic feeling though is; if you LOVED the previous 2 books, as I did, you'll enjoy this one as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars emotionally shattered but so worth it
I don't even know where to start with this review.. This series has been absolutely phenomenal, and Beg For Mercy did not disappoint.
It was truly worth the wait that I thought was going to give me heart palpitations, with each teaser I was that little bit more addicted and in desperate need for the finally chapter in Mercy and Sades series.
What I love about reading a trilogy or a series is when you find characters that you can connect with in that way it makes you want (need)to continue their journey and that’s how I felt about Mercy and Sade from the moment i read the very first book.
Nothing about this series has been typical, protectable or easy. It has been captivating, the most emotional journey I have endured with such powerful characters, heartbreaking, truly phenomenal and filled with the most undeniable love.
Mercy and Sade haven't had it easy from the start of their journey however in this book we see it all coming to a painful crash of wills, strength and love.
Mercy and Sade both learn some extremely tough lessons from each other and other people. Emotions run high, fist will definitely fly and there are times when you don’t think either of them will make it but as with everything in life, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and both Sade and Mercy have enough strength in them to help fight each other’s demons. The only question is, will their love be able to conquer both of their demons or will there be someone who can keep Mercy and Sade from the happy ending they both deserve.
Sade doesn't will try everything in his power to push Mercy away from himself, as see continues to see himself as a 'monster' that cannot be fixed, healed or saved. He has lost his faith, the belief that he has a single good bone in his body.
However as we know a women can be a truly powerful and extremely stubborn force! Mercy will stop at nothing to show Sade how much she loves him, the good she sees/knows he has inside him. She is putting on her ass kicking boots and aiming them Sades way!
During Beg For Mercy I truly loved the conversations between both Sade and his mother they were both beautiful and absolutely heartbreaking all at the same time. He can feel the emotions just rolling off the page, and feel it in your soul. The pain they have suffered, the unbreakable love they share and the brightness within Sades mum.
There was also some amazing moments between Sade and Mercys father. The humour during their encounters is perfectly placed.
I am now so emotionally shattered, but every second was oh so worth it. For Lucian to bring such a powerful message thru this story is truly breathtaking. Our demons, the people who have held us back and the past can only take hold of what we allow it to.
I have loved everything Lucian Bain has written, the words just flow perfectly, I felt like I loved everything with these characters and it is definitely one of my favourites!

5.0 out of 5 stars A deeply emotional and erotic end to a great trilogy!
What I love about reading a trilogy or a series is when you find characters that you can connect to in a way that makes you want to continue their journey and that’s how I felt about Mercy and Sade from book 1.
Now the final book in finished, I love the characters even more. Nothing about their relationship has been typical or easy but the strength and determination they’ve shown and the love and support they’ve shared would give even someone with the coldest heart hope that no matter what life throws at you, there’s always a way through it.
Sade and Mercy both learn some tough lessons from each other and other people. Emotions run high and there are times when you don’t think either of them will make it but as with everything in life, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and both Sade and Mercy have enough strength in them to help fight each other’s demons. The only question is, will their love be able to conquer all or will there be someone who can keep Mercy and Sade from the happy ending they both deserve.
Every author has a different style of writing which is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it and I personally love Lucian’s books. As well as the variety in his characters, Lucian always has hidden messages in every story and I think how they are interpreted, depends on the personal experiences of the person reading them. There are religious elements too but not so many that you feel overwhelmed by them and even if you aren’t religious, you can appreciate how the characters in the story need their faith and that it is important to them.
If I had one criticism, it would be that a scene in the last chapter of the book needed to be a bit longer. Maybe it’s because I’m more of a Sadist than Sade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series!
Well I was a bit nervous before I started this from the way the last book was left, I think I was actually a bit scared! What I expected to happen did not, which pleased me. I love Sade and Mercy, their connection from the start has been fantastic. Sade thinks he's a monster and nothing will change him, he doesn't want to be that monster with Mercy but sometimes the monster rears his head, luckily Mercy is a strong character in more ways than one and she is more than capable of unleashing her own terror on Sade, her father Kane trained her well!! Will their characters be too strong for each other? Will they over come their darkness of their pasts or will it over come them?? This has been an on the edge of my seat series, I loved it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, emotionally draining and totally riveting read
Another absolutely AMAZING series from Lucian Bane. The Mercy series left me emotionally drained. When I got to the end I just had to sit back and take stock of what I had read. Wow!!! This is how books should make you feel. A phenomenal writer who creates the most wonderful engaging but tortured characters. I LOVED Mercy and Sade. There are some real moments of horror too, especially in book 2, making it a nail biting erotic thriller with lots of twists and turns. The ending was fabulous. Now I've (almost) recovered, I am off to start reading another Lucian Bane series now. Addictive stuff.
