One grumpy boy...

    It's such a pleasure to find a new to me writer whose sentences flow easily, whose sex scenes are hot and whose characters are well developed and internally coherent. Which is a lot of heavy words for what is essentially a piece of fluff. Ethan goes to a party, insults the art meets the host, discovers Daddy kink, and basically they fall in love. Not that's a spoiler, it's an m/m romance after all. I bought it hook line and sinker and recommend that you do too...

    I loved this prequel to Damage Control and reading Ethan’s story. It completely explains how Tyler and Ethan did not mesh as a couple but remained friends. Ethan was the cutest, snarky twink and Charlie was so hot and commanding. They were prefect for each other. This was a really fun, hot read and it added to my enjoyment of the series. I hope there are many more to come!

    I like Damage Control a lot, and wanted to get another dose of Lyn Van Dorn. This wasn’t quite my cuppa. First, I can’t visualize Tyler’s character with Ethan’s character. Maybe because we only really see him with Charlie, where he’s mostly an hysterical, crying mess during sex, then a needy mess while convinced Charlie isn’t serious. The story needs serious suspension of disbelief for the insta-love, too. Nothing is really wrong with the story as long as you don’t mind mostly PWP, Daddy style.

    Lynn Van Dorn can write, without doubt. I like Ethan and Charlie, and their chemistry is hot. There is just one very specific part of their being together that is an "eww" factor for me and that kept me from enjoying this book.

    I like the authors’ writing style which is why I read this book. Her steamy scenes are seriously hot, but this story is 2 things I’m really NOT into (instalove and Daddy kink), I mean, I can take one or the other on occasion, but together, not so much. So, nothing against the author or this book, it’s just not my thing, but the sexy parts are smoking if you like a bit of dominance/control as part of the mix. And the 2 mc’s are well written, it’s a novella so not a lot of depth, but the reader gets a good sense of them, they aren’t generic. And I read the whole book because she’s a good author. If she wasn’t, this would have been more hokey than it was and I would have tossed it quickly. As it was, I made it to the end, and I’ll be watching for whatever else the author puts out because I really enjoyed some of her other books.

    These two were super sweet together - it was quite funny how they met, poor Charlie being insulted so often but he took it with good spirit and what follows is definite fireworks! There was excellent chemistry and it was full of steamy moments from start to finish. The relationship between Ethan and Charlie moves quickly and there isn't too much wider world building - we hear about Tyler and this will lead nicely on the the full length book in the series where he gets his HEA.

    Overall, a steamy read with some light daddy kink, a much needed HEA and minimal angst. I'd definitely recommend to those who like this genre and I'm intrigued to read more.

    Novella length Valentine’s Day story about Ethan, Tyler’s ex, who we partially met (via a phone call ) between Tyler and Ethan in Damage Control. This book featuring Ethan and Charlie, is set 18 months before Damage Control and after Tyler and Ethan split up. If you loved Damage Contol, which I adored, you’ll love Be My Mistake.

    Charles ‘Charlie’ Weston is holding a Valentine Day Pretty in Pink party. Ethan, Tyler, Purvi are going. Ethan gets drunk and wanders off into the house where he meets tall, blonde and sexy and disses Charles Weston, his house, his career and his artwork. Ethan flings the word, Douchenozzle around a lot. Ethan doesn’t know who he’s talking to until too late. Oh Dear.
    Ten minutes ago Charlie was bored, now he is captivated. Momma Mia. *fans self*, is it hot in here or what?

    Be My Mistake takes place over 24 hours with epilogue 3 years later.

    Can I just say Lynn Van Dorn again has hit it out of the park with her fabulous wit, great dialogue, excellent character development (considering such a short novella length) and scorching hot sexy times. I love a great Daddy kink, and this was awesome. Set to a Valentines Day theme and what more do you need?

    In case you were wondering: As with Damage Control, Be My Mistake had similar chapter titles so we knew where were were, and what was happening, titles which become progressively funnier as the day progresses. Add in smoking hot raunchy as heck, sexy times between our sweet boy Ethan and the sexy as sin Daddy Charlie and honestly this was a fabulous short. Cameos from Tyler, because Bffs.

    Available on Kindle Unlimited, I loved it so much I bought it.

    Oh, that was such a cute Daddy/pretty boy romance. And the bedroom scenes, fan me now I'm so hot! For such a short story this one turned out really good. Not a lot of character development but you could still feel the connection between the two MC's.
