Another 'must-read' by this author. I have read most of her books, and all of them have been intense, thought-provoking, and engrossing. Great characters and story-line that keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

In this story Henry is in prison after being convicted of terrorism for his help with the IRA. The story details what Henry's life is like on a day-to-day basis at the prison. It shows his day starting out at the gym and in the afternoon he works in the library. He looks forward to his visits from Nancy and also writing letters to her as well.

Nancy on the other hand, is at a women's conference where at a receprtion one of the guests happens to be discovered dead on the sidewalk. All signs point to him being a jumper. For this case Inspector Pole is brought in. Shortly thereafter, another person has died while his car was running in the garage and this too was believed to be a suicide. Pole has Nancy working as a consultant on these cases and she believes that these are murders and not suicides. Both of these victims were involved in the Banking industry and point to something going on.

Henry is aware of these events and has been looking into what might be the cause. In his last visit with Nancy, Henry presents his observations to her and suggests that Pole might want his help. He told her that he needed to be out of prison to do this work. While this is going on another member of Government involved with Banking as been in a hit-and-run accident and is in the hospital.

Henry has put all of this information and presented his findings. Everything points to another person being involved and who happens to be a friend of Nancy's that she was a mentor for.

To discover what event all the killings were associated with, what other person Nancy had to the facts pointed to and who was really responsible for the actions, then you need to read this book. The ending will have you questioning what is next?

I liked the first book. Okay the mad ending was stretched but on on balance good stuff. Certainly good enough for me to go straight into book 2. Really disappointed. Early chapters has Had year Gary Cook young off the roof off No1 Poultry. Then as full face on face interview with SKY News and some random professor. The next 3 chapters keep referring back to how there is no coverage in MSM of his death. Did the author forget she had SKY cover his death. I can't get past that failure of continuity. Sorry, disappointed, I was looking forward to how it all ends. Now I can't be bothered.
