Born To Run: A Counterpoints Novella (Counterpoints Series) Kindle Edition
Born to Run is about Noah Laurent, a secondary character in the Counterpoints series -a top race driver who is asked to leave his team at the end of the series.
Noah is cold blooded, brutally honest and just doesn't care about anything and anyone. He's made his way up the ladder all by himself. He's well known for his outbursts with the press and in the boxes. But he's also an ace, a top driver.
And just when he thinks he's done fighting, he meets someone that will get him back on track.... literally.
Reading the Counterpoints series is not necessary but would help understand better the character.

About the author

Laura Rossi is an Italian multigenre writer. Raised in the US and in the UK, where she graduated in Psychology and Criminology, she now resides in Italy with her family.
Devotedly interested in the human mind, Laura likes to scare people saying she goes ‘from sweet to psycho in a matter of seconds’ with her characters. One day she’s writing something sweet and funny, the other she’s crafting dark, flawed characters for edgy, twisted stories.
When she’s not busy working in her family business or being a mom, she loves to travel and attend rock shows. If you see her wondering around town with a wicked smile on her lips, she’s probably thinking of putting you in one of her novels, plotting a new thriller in her head or figuring out which character needs to get the bullet.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2018"I knew what I was. I was the girl that once believed in fairy tales, until I was thrown off my horse and reminded of what life was really all about."
I really enjoyed this novella! What a great addition to the Counterpoint series! Even though Noah wasn't the focus of that series, we all wanted more of him!
Vera Evans has one goal - to make it to First Category. She'll do anything she has to in order to get there. For as long as she can remember, she's been determined to break in to the good ol' boy racing industry. Focus, focus, focus- no distractions. That is, until she starts training with Noah Laurent. The attraction between them is undeniable, the chemistry off the charts. When all her training pays off, can she chase her dreams and keep Noah too?
Noah Laurent knows there is no one to blame but himself for being released from his team. Now, working for Christopher's Drivers Academy, he trains the next generation of up and coming drivers. Never did he think he'd be training a woman. He knows all too well the hurdles she will face with no support, no connections, not to mention there has never been a female driver. He vows to not treat her any differently than the other drivers - to push her to her limits. And he doesn't - if you don't count kissing her and taking her to his bed. Her dream is to race First Category, and he won't let her fail. He'll make sure she gets her dream, even if it means letting her go.
I loved Noah. He's one of my favorite kinds of characters - tortured, regretful, and trying to put it all behind him and do what's right. Not to mention he is one sexy guy! I loved the banter between he and Vera and the fact that she dishes it right back to him. I love a strong female character -one that challenges her hero and stands up for herself in the process. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down!
Such a great, quick read!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2018I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline, and it's twist and turns. It was bittersweet to read about Christopher and Isabella, and not get more of them! But I feel in love with Noah and Vera!
The author kept Noah true to himself, and acted like the a-h*le he was in Counterpoints Series, were we first meet him. But now we get to pick his brain, take a look behind the scene, pop the hood (pun intended),so to speak. And we get to know Noah. The real Noah. And then we get to know that he actually has self insight..and knows when he is doing something...stupid. But it's a couple of years later, and it seems like he has grown up, mature a bit. Which makes him a total hottie!
"I was a woman, my ba**s were hidden, but they were there." -Vera
Vera Evans, strong and beautiful. Full of sass and determination!
The author keeps true to her writing style, and is great at giving the characters depth and soul!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2018I always wonder what happened to Noah after he was forced to retire and I love that he got his happy ending. Although he was annoying (a...)for lack of a better word, I always felt bad for him. You could see that he wasn't bad at all time and it shows when he ended working at the Academy for Christopher. I loved how his character was developed in this novella and see him in a different light. Seeing him interact with Vera and how much she reminded him of himself when going through the struggle of being a First Category Racing racer. I loved how he pushed her to follow her dream even after she had given up all hopes. Love it!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2018So happy that Noah gets his story and what a story it is! This totally caught me by surprise and I absolutely loved it. Thank you Laura for another amazing read.

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Noah Laurent finds himself with no career and no energy to fight. As he embraces an opportunity for a new career, he meets someone who pushes his boundaries and pushes him to return to his original passion for racing.
Born to Run is a novella to the counterpoint series by Laura Rossi, and focuses on the secondary character, Noah.
I was excited to read Noah’s story, although I’d had a love hate relationship with him through out the counterpoint series, I knew there was more to him and he had a whole story of his own to tell. Laura Rossi did not disappoint; she has given us the reader, a chance to discover what made Noah the arrogant, hard faced racer. Having now read his story, I understand why he acted how he did and did the things he did.
Reading Noah’s story, I found myself full of compassion for him. He had truly worked hard to for his racing career, he hadn’t had the easy path that so many racers did. I also found Noah to be a loyal and caring friend.
When Noah took his racing talent to a different level and choose to help others, we got to see how truly talented he was, not only on the track, but at spotting future talent.
Without a doubt Noah completely won me over in his Novella and I find myself wanting to ask the author for a little more, simply because this novella wasn’t enough to quench my thirst for Noah Laurent.
Although this story can be read as a standalone, I think to truly enjoy this story you need to read the Counterpoints series. Romance, racing, adrenaline, suspense, the Counterpoint series by Laura Rossi has them all and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars It may be short but it packs a punch!!
After reading Born To Run, the first thing that comes to my mind is that the author seems to know what she's talking about. After being forced to watch F1 racing when I was younger by my father, I sort of know some terminology of the racing world. I'm pleased to see that the author has either a knowledge or has actually researched their key theme. It always grates on me when this doesn't happen.
Adding onto this, after I was forced to watch F1 in my youth, I can honestly say that my later years I have dedicated to NOT watching F1 or any racing for that matter, so I actually thought I'd dislike that aspect of the book but I found myself quite enjoying it. All that tension of will she/won't she win the race had me getting quite excited.
The characters were a fab pairing but I found myself wishing for a bit more tension between them in the beginning. A little more of a standoffish vibe would have given me more goosebumps. As a novella though I can appreciate that you can't really drag a story out. It was necessary to segregate each chapter into start and complete so that it fit the novella typecasting.
Their chemistry together though was really hot and I felt they both suited one another.
I'd highly recommend reading the Counterpoints series too, if only to get a feel for the secondary characters that are now in Born To Run. However, the Counterpoints series doesn't have to be read in order to enjoy this book, it has its own story, a beginning and ending. I just wish I'd had time to read the series beforehand for my own personal understanding. That will be rectified though as soon as I'm able.

5.0 out of 5 stars When I read Skins by this author I absolutely loved it so when I noticed Born to Run was ...
I've had Counterpoints on my kindle for months and never gotten round to reading it. It’s not something I've ever been interested in, racing cars or drivers - I see enough of it a weekends when my husband has it on. When I read Skins by this author I absolutely loved it so when I noticed Born to Run was a novella from the Counterpoints series I had to give it a go. This story grabbed my attention from the first page. Not coming from money or a family of racing driver legends that will automatically get them on the best teams, the two main characters are amazing. Noah is not your typical racing driver. Nothing has come easy for him and he has had to fight all the way to the top earning himself the reputation of being an arrogant man. But once you start to read this book it's clear he has a heart of gold. Vera is just like him in not coming from money or a family of racing driver legends. Noah know how hard it going to be for her to get noticed but also she has another disadvantage - she's a woman so even though she has all the talent of one of the best drivers no one will take her seriously. My heart was breaking for these two. They clearly have so much in common and have strong feelings for each other yet both keep denying what the heart wants. Yet again amazing story by this author my only regret is i didn’t read Counterpoints first. Highly recommend this story to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Written
As soon as I opened the book I was hooked. The story of Noah and Vera and how their attraction grows is lovely. As a follower of motorsport, I loved how the author showed how difficult it is for a woman to make it in a very male orientated world. It's written extremely well and the author again "knows her stuff" when it comes to the sport. Both the main characters are passionate about their sport and it comes through very well in the book. The relationship between them has me willing them both on. I haven't read the other books in this series, but I will now. A beautifully written story.

5.0 out of 5 stars good conclusion to the series!
I always knew that Noah could be redeemed. Even though I enjoyed the first three books, for me, this was by far the best. I really enjoyed it. Even when Noah was a douche in the first three books, I knew he had a story to tell. I'm just glad that this novella was published, because it was a perfect ending to the series. Noah and Vera were like two peas in a pod, and even though I had a sneaky feeling where this story was going at the beginning it didn't take anything away from the story. I look forward to reading more by Miss Rossi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Written.... Must Read 😊
I loved the Counterpoints Series and I was a little unsure if I could read a book about just Noah but I have to say, I loved it!! The characters were brilliant, Vera was Sassy, Honest and Stood no crap. Noah, was HOT and it was lovely to still have Christopher and Isabella in the background. I love how the authors writing improves with each book, I'm looking forward to reading more from this author 💗 x
