Beautiful story
This is my second book by Emery Rose and I have fallen in love with her characters and stories. Killian is a ex MMA fighter, has a traumatic past and hasn’t dealt with it, he is grumpy and mean but deep inside has a big beautiful heart that not many people get to experience. Eden is an artist, had her heart broken and that made her become the woman that she always wanted to be, she doesn’t have to hide or feel guilty for who she is. She is a very independent woman who won’t let anyone get her down. She goes and looks for what makes her happy and in that time she finds Killian. They make a beautiful couple and I love how their relationship is, they are very possessive of each other but have their own space to be themselves and being together makes them better people. The plot was a take you by the heart and never let you go kind of story, you get immersed into their world real fast, they both have trouble getting together at first but once they do, they work through it all then trouble finds them and there is where we question if they are capable of making it out through it together or not? Don’t worry it has a HEA but it’s so beautiful and sweet that you’ll want more just like me! 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    This book has it all. It’s a slowburn, angsty, multi-dimensional romance. There are no flat characters and no shortcuts here. You’ll find sexy banter, steamy scenes, and incredible writing.

    The secondary characters and the setting are realistic and engaging in a way that perfectly complements the main characters and their story.

    I particularly love the family dynamics. It’s hard to write family/friend interactions that are realistic and relatable while keeping them pertinent to the story. All the characters are so well developed in this book that I feel I know all of them and can’t wait to read their stories.

    Another refreshing aspect of this novel are the conflicts. There are both internal and external conflicts, including some elements of danger and a lot of feels. However, Eden and Killian are strong enough to resist some of the external conflicts that typically break up couples in books. I appreciate that they remain true to their personalities and their relationship instead of succumbing to immature and unnecessary sulks. You will clearly see their growth as people and a couple throughout the novel. That’s as specific as I can be without spoilers.

    The editing is superb, although there was one missed “judgement”.

    I highly recommend this standalone novel, and can’t wait to read the next one.

    Beneath Your Beautiful is my first book by Emery Rose and her debut novel. This book was recommended by a fellow reader-friend, and I'm so happy I gave it a chance.

    Summary:

    All Eden Madley was searching for was a fresh start in a new city. Nothing too complicated. She was finally following her dreams and the only thing she needed was a chance. She never expected to find that chance or love, in a bartending job. But the way the tattooed bar owner makes her feel is undeniable, and Eden isn't the type of girl to ignore a challenge. He may be tall, dark, sexy, and brooding, but he also helps her feel light and free to be herself. She's smart enough to know not to let that feeling go. Killian knows love can hurt, so he keeps his distance and emotions on lockdown. Until a bright ray of sunshine falls at his feet. Eden is determined, stubborn, and hard to resist. She wants to knock down his walls, uncover all of his secrets. But Killian's secrets are far from happy, and still very much apart of his everyday life. He'll have to convince her there's nothing there, for both of their well-being. Except only with Eden has he ever felt anything resembling love, and he's not entirely sure he's selfless enough to let her go.

    This book turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I'm not sure what I expected, but I quickly learned that it was a story that would grab and hold my attention. Considering the Romance genre is a vast and competitive world, writing something that will hold a reader's attention from beginning to end becomes harder and harder. Ms. Rose got me with her characters. I liked Eden. First, because she'd had her heart and trust broken, and as a card-carrying member of the sisterhood, I wanted to support and comfort her. Eden was so much more, though. She was strong, funny, down to Earth, optimistic, caring, and compassionate. I loved how she treated her friends, and adored the way she stood up to and for Killian. Killian was amazing. He had the dark, broody thing down pat, but he was also protective, possessive, funny, and could be sweet. The demons that plagued him broke my heart, thinking of how he came to have them. Not only that, but they were practically eating him alive. As a couple, Killian and Eden's relationship progressed naturally. There was undoubtedly a connection from the moment they met, which they both felt, but it wasn't acted on immediately. They spent time together and let the initial spark build. In my opinion, this gave us a chance to get to know both characters better, and to really delve deep into the feelings each were having. They had some sweet and sexy intimate moments that I was happy didn't take over the story. My only issue with the sex scenes were they seemed a tad rushed. I attribute this to the author still finding her groove in her writing. Overall, I fell deep into Killian and Eden's world and friends. They were both complex characters in their own ways, and I enjoyed seeing their world unfold. The storyline flowed easily, and I had no trouble turning page after page when the anticipation of how it all would end kept me going. An exceptional secondary cast of characters also pulled me in. I'm looking forward to Connor and Ava's tumultuous story. I really, really hope we get stories for Zeke (he's so fun, and I want to see him settle down, maybe with Hailey🤞🏾), Sawyer (swoon, he needs a woman to help him feel at home again and heal his war-ravaged soul), and even Jack Madley would have a sweet second chance at love story. Emery Rose did an amazing job on her debut novel. It was full of emotion, and even had a couple of intense chapters toward the end that were a little unexpected, but not entirely out of left field. The writing was fast-paced, not rushing the story, but rather moving from scene to scene quickly. There were a few places in the beginning that, to me, were overly detailed, but not bothersome. There were also places that could have used some expansion including, Eden's talk with Luke, some of the "dirty" talk, and at least the start of Killian's healing process. That said, Beneath Your Beautiful was a great start to the series, and left open many possibilities for more to come. ♡

    Beneath Your Beautiful in the first book in series Beautiful by Emery Rose. Emery Rose is one of my favorite authors because she writes about beautiful and healthy relationships. I loved the relationship between Killian and Eden and I love how they become each other support.

    Eden moves to another city to escape from her cheating ex-boyfriend and she needs a job to begin her new life. She decides to work in a bar and Killian hires her. They attracted to each other but neither of them was ready for a relationship and they decide to be friends.

    “I wish every person on the planet could look at the world the way you do. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I’m going to try my best to make you happy.”

    I love the romances between Killian and Eden because Eden has the time to heal her broken heart and Killian had the time to face her demons and to believe that he deserves to be happy and to be with Eden. They begin their relationship because they fell in love and they couldn’t stay away from each other. They learned how to be more open with each other and to communicate to solve their problems.

    “When you love someone, you fight for them. And I will always fight for Eden.”

    I loved how Killian and Eden didn’t give up on each other. I love how Killian supported and encouraged an Eden to be an artist. They believe in each other dreams. Eden is a strong woman who fought to heal a Killian and to love him for he is. She loved his wounds and his demons and Killian loves her sweetness and the way she sees the world.

    I loved everything about Beneath Your Beautiful. I loved the relationship between Killian and Eden. I recommend to everyone Beneath Your Beautiful because it is one of my favorite books and this is really beautiful romances.

    What an utterly fabulous debut book by a brand new indie author. Honestly so many times during this book I had to stop & remind myself that this story was Emery Rose’s first ever book & what an amazing story it was.

    This is the story of Killian & Eden. One very damaged hero, with a past he longs to keep hidden & one fiery, determined heroine, who wants to break free from one life & begin another, for her & no one else.

    Killian was a gorgeous hero, I loved the fact that although he was physically strong & brooding, he was also caring & super protective. His past hurt my heart in so many ways, but I have to say, I was so damn happy that our girl Eden was up to the task of dismantling his iron clad wall & showing this beautiful man that everyone deserves to love & be loved ~ including him.

    Eden, gawd I adored this girl & everything she stood for. Yes she was hurt & betrayed, but she made sure she was never down or out. Hell this girl had fire in her belly & a fierceness that made me proud. Strong, determined & funny, with a beautiful soul that shone vividly, I couldn’t have wished for a better heroine to show Killian the way.

    I loved the way their journey unfolded, with some great twists that kept the story flowing effortlessly & the pages turning. Emery did a fab job in developing these characters, letting me see & feel their deepest fears as well as their life long desires. I got to understand who they were individually, but also witness how they truly did bring out the best in each other. Both learning to believe, learning to love & learning to have hope. Gahhh So so good. Mind If this wasn’t enough, I also got some exceptional side characters that I’m praying will get to shout loud with their own voices (especially Sawyer) & give me more fabulous stories to get lost in.

    God Killan has my heart. He may be a bad boy tattooed hottie who at first came across as an ass. But he's protectiveness and alpha-male was swoon worthy from start to finish. Killian and Eden's story is the stuff of fairytales, I was hooked from the first page to the last. This story is gut wrenching, emotional, heartwarming, passionate and sweet. I thought Connor had me but Killian has just weaved his way into my heart just the same. This is a story that will have you wanting more.

    This is a well written story of a broken man and an optimistic girl and their journey together. The thing I love about this story is its a bit more realistic than normal. What I mean is Killian does not get the absolution he desperately needs in this story but life goes on. That's just one example. I'm not going to be more specific but there are so many where the obvious storybook plot is not followed and this is all the better for it.
    I'm of to download book 2 now as I want Connors story.
