Between You, Me, and the Bedpost (Between the Sheets Book 5) Kindle Edition
Ever since Beck’s wife, Josie, moved out of their family home with their son, he’s been trying to win her back, but Josie refuses to reconcile. As much as he loves her, he knows if he doesn’t do something drastic, he’s still going to be working in his bar, waiting for her, in twenty years’ time. So he’s applied for a new job in another town, and when their divorce comes through after Christmas, it’ll be time for him to move on.
Caught up in a cycle of pain and grief, Josie’s retreated into her shell, cutting herself off from her family and friends, and refusing to talk about the event that broke up her marriage. As a psychologist, she knows she’s locked in a destructive behavioral pattern, but it’s impossible to break it. Despair threatens to overwhelm her—and then, on the evening of her friend’s bachelorette party, Beck does something that finally opens the floodgates, and she begins to talk.
For the first time, the pain of the past lifts, and the ice around her heart starts to thaw. At the wedding, she dances with Beck, and after a few drinks, it’s all too easy to have a kiss – and maybe more – for old times' sake. Suddenly, the future’s looking much brighter. But can they both overcome the problems of their past enough to give their love a second chance?

- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2019This is the last book in the Between the Sheets series by Serenity Woods. Although it can be read independently of the others like all of Ms. Wood’s series. (It is just fun to read about your “old friends” from the other books though.)
Beck and Josie have a history. A long history in that they have been married and have a child together. They separated due to a lot of issues including Josie’s miscarriage and the traumatic emotional aftermath. When a woman has a marriage, people expect her to have issues but to deal with them and move on. Pretty fast. But the reality is that every one of us processes grief differently and different speeds. And it isn’t just mum who has to deal with her grief but the dad does too.
Beck and Josie both struggle to move on. Josie is a therapist and one of the hardest things for a therapist to do is to accept that she is struggling. The struggles and emotional trauma is too much for both Beck and Josie. They end up separating and are almost at the end of their three year waiting period for their divorce to be final when circumstances bring them back together. Beck still loves Josie and Josie still loves Beck. And they decide to give it try.
Can true love make it? Can love really conquer all? Well, read this lovely story to find out.
Ms. Woods’ novels are always a wonderful escape into the lovely world of New Zealand and the wonderful people who live there.
I did receive a copy of this novel ahead of time from Ms. Woods in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. I have read the book twice now and my opinion after the second read still hasn’t changed so I am guessing that this review can be considered unbiased and fair.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2019I’m so happy we finally got to read Beck and Josie’s story!! If you’ve been following the series, you wonder what happened to make them get to the point of divorce, when there were clearly still feelings between them. I was worried after all that anticipation that it might not live up to my expectations, but I was so wrong. This book does a perfect job of explaining what happened and how they go to that place. I absolutely loved how deep beck’s love for Josie was. The book was super emotional and filled with love, and I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end. It was an AMAZING book. It’s definitely going on my list of favorites to be re-read again. SO good!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2019The Hero and Heroine lose a baby and they tell no one.. The heroine, a psychologist, sinks into a depression and essentially runs off her husband. They live 5 minutes from each other because he helps with care of his son. After 3years separation, they are a week from the final divorce decree. Then the story starts. It seemed as if the Hero made all of the concessions to try to prevent the divorce. The heroine needed to see someone about depression. I don't think this was one of Serenity Woods best books.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2019Their friends didn't understand. They were the perfect couple then Josie moved out. Neither she or Beck talked about it. It's been 2 years their divorce will become final in a few weeks. A friend's wedding, a sick child, love that had never died, and maybe some Christmas magic help bring them together.
A very good story such intense feelings. First you cry from pain then from joy.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2019I love a romance where a married couple fight to hold on to what they had instead of giving up on their marriage. Josie and Beck went through a devastating loss and due to a lack of honest communication they drifted apart. They never stopped loving each other. It was heartwarming to watch them get back together and put the past behind them. An excellent romance.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2019It was great to finally find out what happened between Josie and Beck to cause all their problems and the breakup of their marriage. It was such a straight forward problem that I didn't even see it coming, which I think shows the signs of a great author. I hate to see this series come to an end so if Serenity Woods would decide to continue it at a later date I'd be tickled pink.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2019Together with many other affectionate readers, I've been waiting for Beck's story for a long time. My expectations have certainly not been disappointed by the male protagonist. Beck is a sweet, kind-hearted and generous individual, whose personality captivates the readers easily. His son, Edward, also adds a bright and sweet touch to the narration. Finally, as in any respectable epilogue, the whole cast of characters of the previous books plays a constant role in the story, providing a welcome encore. Josie, the female protagonist, is, indeed, a controversial character. Many readers will sympathize with her emotionally driven choices, others will peg her behavior as selfish and immature. In both cases, the contrast between her personality and Beck's brings vividness and adds dynamic to the story.
The author's signature writing style pervades the book. Many times, Ms. Woods' voice seems to jump out of the page, expressing feelings and opinions that are instrumental to the general ambiance of the story.
Overall, Between Me, You and the Bedpost is an easy-to-read, vivid and pleasant book, that will gift a few hours of light entertainment, leaving the readers hopeful that the series, despite the authors' declared intentions, will not come to an end.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2019Throughout the Between the Sheets series, we’ve wondered what was up with Beck and Josie, and this story answers it all. Heartbreaking and compelling, the story looks at the cost of tragedy on a marriage. Considering Josie is a therapist, it seems she should have more insight into what is happening, but sometimes being in the weeds makes it hard to see reason. All in all, this book is a satisfying conclusion to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic read
Finally! I’ve been waiting for Josie and Beck’s story for a while and I was not disappointed. I’m glad that they could work together to finally resolve the hurt between them. These are definitely two characters who belong together.
What a wonderful way to end this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tear Jerker!
This is a second chance love story. It has lots of heartache and sadness that brought me to tears, as well as happiness as two people who fell apart through tragic circumstances are brought back together through their love for each other. I have loved this series and I really enjoyed finally getting Beck and Jo’s story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous writing. A wonderful story about love and loss.
This is the story in the Between The Sheets series we have all been waiting for: Whatever happened between Josie and Beck? Why are they apart, yet still love each other?
From the first page, the emotion is so raw. Serenity Woods excels herself in this gut wrenching story.
This couple were so in love, had a lovely wee boy and were trying for another baby.
Read this book to find out why they separated and how it might be possible to heal from this heart-breaking rift.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read.
This is quite an emotional story. Beck and Josie are so broken after their loss, she moves out and pushes Beck away. They have a turning point with two weeks left before the divorce. Through the series you have been rooting for them to get back together. They needed the time to communicate and be honest with themselves and each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
This was the final part of a brilliant series. A sensitive understanding of the effects of a miscarriage and a truly wonderful uplifting story. Exceptional author.
