He's got a bad past and has done bad things, and now he just sits at home writing HEAs for gay romance couples. And Colton, bless his heart, breaks down in front of his cabin and has to fight through this anxiety and fear to go inside to get warm. AND THEN CUE THE HOTTEST SCENE I HAVE EVER READ. The care Russ showed, the sweetness between the two MCs--I WISH I COULD READ THIS BOOK FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN. There was no senseless, stupid breakup. There were no dumb misunderstandings. They were together and for each other from the very first moment they laid eyes on each other and I COULD NOT GET ENOUGH. I highly doubt any other book will EVER come close to this book!

    This is a super cute, steamy, redemption story. Russ has a bad boy history. Colton is like Bambi, wide eyed innocent. Sometimes i think he was too clueless. Colton ends up at Russ house in the wilderness. He's not a serial killer but an author, sort of same thing if you're a mystery writer. Colton falls head over heels for Russ and believes he is a good person; even if his last boyfriend disappeared without a trace.

    So now they are snowed in and Coltons Dad and the sheriff are freaking out.

    And Russ and Colton are cozy and getting to know each other. The story is funny, cute, steamy and happily ever after. The characters are likable. I love Russ support group friends. Looking forward to next book!

Because before driving down this creepy dirty driveway surrounded by acres of murder forest, I hadn’t, and I need to know if the pants-wetting levels of terror I’m feeling will go away, or if I should park and preemptively pee before I become the next victim of a knockoff Leatherface.”

    So I read this book last month and never got around to writing a review because I was a bit torn. So let’s start with my favorite parts of this book.

    The characters are by far my favorite part of this novel. Usually, being in the character’s mind for long periods annoys me, but that was the best part of this book. Reading Colton’s internal ramblings, especially when he’s having a ‘moment,’ had me cracking up. On that same note, that characteristic of his made this book a light, fun read even while addressing serious concepts like emotional abuse in a relationship.

    I would describe the plot as being mild. It added to the story, but the main part of this novel was the primary and secondary characters. They are all well developed and does a fantastic job driving the plot forward.

    My least favorite part of this story has to be the sex scenes in this book and the speed at which the sexual relationship began. I honestly do think they fit who the characters are, maybe if they were different people. But for the majority of the book, I was skimming through those scenes.

    Bad Boy is a light book to pick up if you’re looking for a light read with a slightly serious undertone. I won’t consider this a reread, but there are a few chapters I’ve read or listened to twice. I would recommend the audiobook for this one Michael Ferraiuolo does a fabulous job of bringing this story alive.

    I have to admit I was hesitant about reading this one after browsing through some reviews, but I’m happy I picked it up in the end. Even though the beginning of the story leaned more towards bad porn than romance, it actually developed into something sweet and a little more realistic after the first few chapters.

    The beginning of the book was fast paced and it got steamy fast, it wasn’t super realistic but I still enjoyed it. The characters made some questionable decisions that, even from the little I knew about them, seemed out of character. Their relationship developed fast, mostly due to the close proximity of being snowed in together, but there was more communication later on that I really missed in the beginning of the story.

    I found Russ to be an intriguing character and I liked getting to know his story, especially the way his past caught up with him when he got involved with Colton. Colton really grew as a character, he went from being timid and shy to being more self assured and knowing his worth. Russ was great for him and really supportive, but I liked how they both needed each other.

    I understand that this story isn’t for everyone, but it worked as a palate cleanser for me and I did end up enjoying it. It wasn’t overly fluffy, more sweet and the guys made me smile a few times. The story had some good flow for me once I got into it, and if you like the tropes featured and feel okay with overlooking a few things or suspending your disbelief, you might like it too!

    I was a huge fan of Ms Alcott's alterego when I discovered her contemporary series. I simply loved her Small Town Hearts' s series and the prequel for Masters of Romance so I was waiting anxiously for this book. And... What a book! Colton and Russ' story is witty, funny, sweet and romantic, with little family drama and a few angst situations that Colton managed beautifully (Not want to spoil anything for you but WOW) I couldn't stop reading until the very last page and after finishing I started reading it again. The book was so perfect!
