Battle It Out (Code Of Honor Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,288 ratings

Master Sergeant Zane Gannon loves nothing more than being a part of his Special Forces unit and kicking ass, but above everything, he values his friendship with Isaac. Sure, they argue and snipe at each other, but it’s all in good fun. Until it isn’t. Now, Isaac is pulling away and something Zane has buried for two decades is resurfacing.

Staff Sergeant Isaac Thorne has loved Zane Gannon from a distance for three years, and he was doing just fine concealing this fact until the colonel decided to pair them together a year ago. Now, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to hide his feelings, so he takes to avoiding Zane. So what? The man is infuriating and straight, and lately, he’s acting very strange.

The fire ignites between Zane and Isaac when things come to a boiling point on a mission and the locker room gets heated. Infinity takes on several new recruits. BFFs are not who they seem, and a mission goes horribly wrong when a group of homegrown terrorists rear their ugly heads.

Hold onto your helmets for a bumpy ride as these two soldiers battle it out.

*This standalone, fast paced, MM action and adventure romance has everything you’d expect from a Reese Knightley novel.

Yay Isaac and Zane finally got their HEA! Loved these two together even though they had a tough road to get there.

Battle It Out is book six in the Code of Honor series by Reese Knightley. It centers around the relationship between Isaac and Zane. They have been partners in the military for years until Isaac gets stabbed and things get weird. They both have feelings for one another but the past and their fears put them on edge. They push each other away causing a whole other set of problems within the team.
The story is as well written as always, the main characters easy to relate to. The action and romance were again on par.
However there werea couple of things that just didn't click well for me in this one. First of all we don't see a final outcome with Isaac's mother. I would have liked to see a bit more there than just the one scene and a quick rap up after the emphasis that is put on it.
The second was the side plot concerning Lacy. The whole thing seemed a little last minute and forced to me, like maybe the word count wasn't there and this was added to puff it up some. It just didn't seem to fit right to me.
Overall it was still a good read and d would recommend it along with the rest of the series.

Living a life where you are afraid to be yourself is hard and that is what Zane was doing. Zane and Issac always partner on missions and they were best friends. When Issac and Zane was in WITSEC, Zane begin to realize he had feelings for Issac. Issac didn’t understand what was happening with Zane so he left. Zane didn’t understand why Isaac was treating him differently and it was causing between them. Zane didn’t know how to express his feeling and be honest with himself and Isaac that he was gay. It took them getting into trouble with the Colonel and Zane brother Diesel helping him to really realize he is gay rather than bisexual. It was a great story.

This author writes very well in my opinion and her books are always, always exciting and fulfilling. I've read all of the books in these three connected series and like the interplay among the characters. In this particular book, although I did like it, I felt it took too long for Zane to reach his "center" for lack of a better word. Also the book felt a tiny bit disjointed with some odd scenes thrown in. Once Zane and Isaac got together, it got much better. It was also fun catching up with other characters from the three series. Look forward to all of the stories. Terrific cover by the way.

I just wish I could give you more stars because our soldiers deserve it! Oh my goodness we had some funny moments when Zane was trying to figure himself out and Isaac was absolutely no help! Then there was plenty of drama so no worries about lack of action and drama and then love moved in and everything was perfect. This is a great addition to our Code of Honor books and it also catches us up on our other men!

Reese has the abilities to make us love all of her caracter or make us switch opinion about them. The plot is always good. And the twist is "imprevisible". I love the bond in the group and the action is always always very well writing, well describe, very good pace and it make it more believable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top secret military missions by the bravest
Reviewed in Germany on October 9, 2022
This is one of eight books in the Code of Honor series. These books take you through the lives of the men and women who deal with the dangerous world we live in. Reading these books is like being a journalist embedded with a military unit. But the jobs these military members do are always done in top secret and must remain that way. Their military units have missions that are often off-the-books types. The world we live in is truly a dangerous place and seems to be getting more dangerous every day. These soldiers deal with the danger and help keep us safe. As an observer of their lives and jobs you will find joy and sadness, bringing tears and heartbreak. The eight books are standalones but I recommend you start with book one and go from there. The main characters are sprinkled through all eight books making the series read line
