    When two shifter families have a bad history between them, what do you do when the Alpha's daughter mates with the Bears son?

    Finley Woullfe, a wolf shifter, grew up under the living room of her Alpha father and mother. But she was shielded from all of the pack's business, until a tragedy striked. Now she works with the younger pack members and communicates directly with her father so he's aware of everything. Because if he had known what was going on in that house, things would have been very different today.

    Alasdair McMahon, a bear shifter, has a history with the wolf pack--his half sister, Annora, was a part of that tragedy years ago. He wants the Alpha to get the revenge his father and 2 other brothers have waited years to seek. Now that Annora has safely delivered her baby, the boys drive out to get justice. Once they get into town though, Alasdair sees a beautiful girl on a ladder hanging a sign on his sister's old home. But his bear is crawling at his skin, screaming MATE!!

    Not thinking twice of the consequences, Finley and Alasdair claim each other. Afterwards, remembering that he's supposed to meet his dad in the Alpha's home, he brings Finley along. But when she mentions that the Alpha is her father, all traces of warmth leave his features.

    Finley has rose colored glasses on, thinking that her mate will treasure her just the way her father does her mother, or like all of the romance books she reads. Alasdair doesn't talk to her, leaves her alone a lot, she's not accepted by his clan, and she's miserable. Knowing that he isn't going to change, he's only with her for her body, she's ready to give up. He'll never let her in emotionally and her wolf needs that tie; especially when there's a full moon and he completely forgot about it. Her wolf needs that to complete the mating bond. She knows it's time to go home.

    When her dad calls his dad with a warning to watch Annora because the pack got a threat; the men ignore it. Only because it came from her dad. Finley gives up and goes to help her new sister-in-law herself, nearly getting herself killed in the process.

    Alasdair is tearing himself up for ignoring the threat and now his mate is walking away from him. He assumed that she knew how he felt about her. But by looking at her dark circles under her eyes, her gaunt face, and skinny body; he realizes that she has lost her spark. And that's all on him.

    When his sister tells him that he destroyed her the night before, he thinks it's because he came home smelling like another woman. But it's because he missed the full moon; and he loses hope that she'll ever forgive him.

    A must read!

    Finley & Alasdair's story is a super quick read, and they have the fated mates thing going for them, but their road is not easy. Although he recognizes her right away as his mate, Alasdair has a little trouble actually connecting the way he should - or, rather, expressing that connection to Finley. And I LOVE Finley! She grew up coddled and as her pack's princess, but she has a backbone & isn't afraid to stand up to the men in her life. Loved her feisty personality!

    Great story & loved seeing more of Annora & Parker! My only complaint is that the last bit felt rushed. I didn't connect as much with Alasdair as I normally do w/ the heroes - mostly because he was being a brat for most of the book. I would have liked a little more time getting to know him & Finley after he stopped being a jerk. The epilogue, tho, was FANTASTIC! : )

    Alasdair never thought about taking a mate, he along with his brothers raised by their father. There mother never hung around. They were loved and cherished.

    Discovering they have a sister they knew nothing about shocked them all including their father who had no clue.

    It’s here the story follows from The Black River Pack. The resentment they hold towards the Alpha of the pack that their sister belonged too. They felt he should have known what was happening.

    When Alasdair first spots Finlay his bear reacts instinctively, it knows she’s his mate. It happens quickly, mated and marked. Too bad he doesn’t realise who she is.

    Finlay is the beloved daughter of the Alpha Wolf who Alasdair’s family resents. She’s been loved and protected her whole life. She doesn’t know any different. Her mating with Alasdair is everything she dreamed of. Well until he found out who she is.

    When Alasdair takes Finlay back home him his treatment is of indifference. There’s no problems with their love life but apart from that that’s all there is. Sex and nothing more.

    Finlay is heart broken, it’s nothing life she dreamt of when she imagined her mate. And she’s not sure how much more she can handle.

    When Alasdair’s sisters life is threatened they don’t take it seriously because the information came from Finlay’s father. Finlay knows she has to step up.

    The threat was real, Finlay is their to save the day but at a cost. Hurt badly it’s here that Alasdair realises that he loves her and his treatment of her was wrong.

    Sometimes women need words and actions. This bear shifter knows that now. He steps up, not just him but his family also.

    Swoon worthy! He nailed it.

    Loved catching up with these shifters and I can’t wait to see how the brothers fair finding their mates!

    After reading Thrown to the Wolves, we learned that that Annora has finally discovered who her father is and she has 3 older brothers as well. When we were told that these brothers would be getting their own stories I was ecstatic! Bear shifters tend to be my favorite of all the shifters to read.
    However, Alasdair's story was not a favorite of mine. Although he has no positive experience in how men should treat their mates, I would think that his "animal" side would've been aggravated and more in-tune to how his mate was feeling.
    After everything that Alasdair did to Finley, while I understand that you can't exactly fight fate, I do think that Finley should've made Alasdair grovel more than giving in after getting a few little trinkets (which might I add Finley's mom had to tell him because he didn't know anything about his mate).
    I certainly hope this isn't what we have to look forward to with this spin-off series. If so then I'll be a bit disappointed.

After the events that brought the McMahon clan into Annoras life, her dad and brothers have been keeping an eye and getting ready for when they can start to seek out the alpha of the Woulffe pack and question why he didn’t protect Annora from the family she was supposed to trust, the unexpected happens however when Alasdair locks eyes with Finley. Fated mates, who don’t even manage to speak each other names before they mark and mated each other. However what happens when your mate discovers who your father is? Will he treat you like a mate should be treated or like he has no choice???
    I enjoyed this story, the plot and writing are good and the characters are great. Pulling all the characters together again is great. This is a quick storyline with lots of angst, not much romance initially but some hot sex. Some danger but I think this will carry over into the next reads. Would recommend.
