    I am a USA Today Bestselling, British author, from the depths of the rural countryside near London. In a previous life, I was an accountant from the age of twenty-one.     I love the concept of this thrilling book, and brand new series...gods and demigods hiding in plain sight, and an eternal battle between good and evil being waged on Earth, for their allegiances and their souls...

    This might be a war of the divine but its effects resonate in the world of humans....and here lies the strength of this book because they may be gods with all the pre-requisite powers but when it comes down to it they experience the same feelings and emotions that their human counterparts encounter although the effects of this can be both magical, but more often than not, devastating..if Mars is having a bad day... the whole world gets to know about it.

    Be warned this is a dark story, very dark in places, but there is a perfect counterbalance to this in the shape of the humour and love between not only the main characters but the secondary cast as well... Mars and Vicky may be centre stage, but Mars’ family, in particular, are omnipresent and fascinating in their own right ...I am looking forward to reading some of their personal stories in future instalments of the series..

    This is an original and completely breathtaking story... it will sweep you up and take you to an alternative universe governed by mythological deities .... be prepared for one hell of a ride....an advanced copy of this book was given to me by the authors.

    What could go wrong on a girls holiday to Rome, apparently everything. Vicky is enjoying the culture of Rome and sketching her heart out. She get so caught up and drawing the site that she is totally oblivious to everything going on around her even her best friend Susan. They meet a sexy, brooding man in a pizza place and Vicky has an instant connection to him. She has a sense of déjà vu when their eyes connect. Everything goes downhill from that meeting of the eyes. Vicky and Susan are drugged and the guys that are dragging them out get Susan but Mars (broody, sexy man from the pizzeria) saves Vicky. She is thrown into a world that she didn’t even know existed, battles between gods and goddesses and she is the prize.

    Mars is the god of war and Venus aka Vicky is the goddess of love and beauty. Vicky is experiencing an awakening and she doesn’t know what part she plays in this battle. The two warring sides want to acquire her, well look good win the battle against evil?

    I love the twist on mythology that these authors make. These authors are both excellent individually but together they can’t be stopped.

    I had such high hopes for this one, based on the blurb. But it was nothing like I hoped it would be. It was a ok book. I know others will love this book, and that's ok. It was just not a book for me.

    It's a fast-paced story, with a fascinating plot. But, I thought the authors could have done so much more out of the story, and given the characters depth and made them interesting.

    What the author's did well in this story, was the dark parts of it. It was nothing original torture, but I thought it was well written.

He is the God of War and can destroy the world with just a touch of his hand. Vicky was compassionate,beautiful and steadfast. She faced so much heartache, pain, loss through out the book but her strength and the power hidden inside of her made her face anything. Mars and Vicky are two halves of one soul who belonged together.

    I simply cannot wait for more in the series. I know I am definitely going to enjoy whats to come.

    An intriguing start to this new series.

    The premise is that ancient Roman Gods live among us. Some are aware of their power and status, others are not. The race is on to discover as many as possible and ensure they use their power for good, and are not aligned to Pluto, God of the Underworld.

    Mars, the God of War, is cast as a modern day lawyer working for his father, Jupiter (King of the Gods). He encounters Vicky, and English tourist visiting Rome, and immediately recognises the power within her, although she is blissfully unaware. Unfortunately, Pluto and his henchmen also become aware of her, and the battle is on to harness her power.

    The book is full of action, suspense and hot and steamy romance. The storyline fizzes along quite nicely and apart from the odd blip (Mars’ son being given the name of a Greek God, not a Roman one) I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to reading more of the series.

    From start to finish I felt fully immersed in the world created by the authors. I loved the human slant of the gods and the way their emotions ruled the world. I loved how Vicky found her strength when she went through so much and how Mars guided her, stood by her and believed in her. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
