The Beginning of Everything Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 76 ratings

Prince Clarence James Henry Nelson hasn’t been a prince in ten years, and he doesn’t want that to change. With his family's blessing, he roams the United States on his bike, leaving the country of Fendalle in his father’s capable hands.

Until tragedy strikes.

Jamie is reluctant to take the throne he was never meant to inherit, but he owes it to his father and his brother to make sure the country they loved so much thrives and to find out if their deaths really were an accident. It doesn’t matter that he’s tattooed and pierced—he’s the new Fendalle king. Being the king comes with problems, but it also comes with his father’s personal assistant.

Jamie didn’t expect Miles to be so...Miles, or to fall in love with him. He wants more than the professional relationship they already share, but Miles wants him to put the kingdom first, and him second.

The Beginning of Everything is a HEA standalone slow burn MM romance with a tattooed biker turned king who doesn’t care about rules and a bossy personal assistant who’s planning to whip the new king into shape.

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.

She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.

She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

I came to this book on a rebound and I didnt have high hopes. I also wasnt really atteacted to the cover but the blurb is what really sold me. The book honestly lived up to it. It has hot tattoo bikers with royality and a nice palace intrigue. This was such a fun short book to read and I highly recommend it.

After spending years upon years on his own, traveling the world and enjoying life as his own man. Jamie is suddenly blindsided when he's told that he needs to go home again. To become the man he was born to be. This story is a wonderful slow burn romance. Two men, from two completely different worlds, are thrust together and forced into a dark mystery surrounding Jamie's family. This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and simply wouldn't let go until I read the last chapter. Both Jamie and Miles are very well written, as is their adventure along the way of finding love within one another's arms. It has everything you would be looking forward within a book. Intensity, heat, passion all mixed in within a touch of mystery. A definite MUST read!

I really didn't care so much for this book. It was a standard story and seemed trite most of the time. Jamie and Miles were cute, but not strong characters. I wished I liked it better.

A runaway Prince personal assistant dead King and his heir. If you thought everything known for the last 10 years was going to change would you want it to did you know you were going to fall in love did you know you were going to lose your family in the most painful way would you still want it to change can you find happiness in the arms of someone who was there at the time of the tragedy will you let what people think should be in polite Society change how you feel or will you go for it that's what Prince Jamie had to go through does he get his happily ever after I don't know but it's always fun to find out

Usually love her books. It was a long, drawn out boring book. I skipped over half of it with all the inner dialogue going on with the characters that just dragged on and on repeating the same things. The plot was obvious from the start. Disappointed in Catherine’s work. Expected way better from her. Glad it was a Kindle Free read. Total waste of time.

While not truly bad per se, there’s just so many missed opportunities here. Completely predictable storyline, where the bad guy was pretty much handed out in the first few chapters. Shallow characters, meh dialogue and no real character arc at all..

I skimmed the last 1/3 because I couldn’t believe it could really be that lacking in twists. But yeah, no surprises or much interest either really.

Absolutely loved this book. It is different from the authors usual genre, but a great read, a bit of mystery and murder, 2 very different MC's and a HEA. I am really hoping this is the start of something new.
