From the Inside Flap
For a moment, she felt as if someone had sucked all the air out of the room. The guy was tall, maybe six-one or two, with short dark-brown hair that stuck up as if he'd been running his hands through it all morning. He wore jeans and a gray hoodie, and well-worn black Converse shoes with white trim. He was incredibly good looking, and her first thought was that maybe a movie star was doing some kind of charity visit to the hospital or something. But the way he was looking at her told her he wasn't here by chance. He knew her.
He held her gaze for a long moment, and she swallowed the second mouthful of cracker with difficulty. Then he looked back at the doctor, nodded, and said something else before coming into the room.
"The doc will be back in a minute," he announced as he approached the bed. He had a deep, rich voice, and the hairs rose on the back of her neck.
"Thanks," her mother replied, looking at Phoebe. They were all looking at her. They were waiting for her reaction.
"Hey," the guy said. Up close, she could see that his eyes were a bright blue. He was gorgeous.
He was also a complete stranger.
"I'm sorry," she said softly, heart racing. "I don't know who you are."
The guy glanced at Noelle, then slid his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "I'm Rafe Masters," he told her. "I'm the guy you're marrying in ten days' time."

- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2018First, a stand alone read with a HEA. The first in a new series and OMG I LOVED IT. A young woman wakes up in a hospital bed. She is hurting all over but her only serious injury is to her head. Her brother is sitting in the room when she wakes up and he has aged since she saw him last. She later finds out that she has lost 8 years of her memory. She also discovers that she was to be married in 10 days and she has no memory of ever having seen her fiancé.
This story is so good. i started reading, skipped dinner, kept reading until my battery died. I charged it up enough to finish!! It is a great story. i expected no less from Ms. Woods. I love all her books. This hero, Rafe, is beyond all you could imagine. I LOVED this guy. He is so in love with his fiancée and he will do anything to help her get her memory or to create enough new ones to have her fall in love with him again. Every woman that wants a love should have their own RAFE. Oh my, he is all that and more.
The heroine of the story is a brilliant young designer of wedding gowns. She has won awards and accolades for her work. She remembers that but she doesn't remember the shop that she and her twin sister created. There are secrets. She feels everyone is keeping something from her but they keep saying no. You will never figure out where this is going. It is such a great read and I definitely recommend it. It is a wonderful start to a new series. I am looking forward to the next book and hate I have to wait until April 28 to get it. There are a lot of side characters so it is hard to guess which one will get the next book. A great read, don't miss it. I hated for this one to end.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. i am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 2/14/18 A great Valentine's gift!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2022Phoebe suffers a traumatic brain injury (hit by a car while running). When she wakes up in the hospital room, she doesn't recognize the man she's supposed to marry in ten days. She agrees to go home with Rafe (they were living together at time of accident) and hopefully jog her memory from the familiar setting. Rafe is desperate to keep her in his life. His love and devotion are true. But she's very damaged, and it's a hard slog for both of them. Fortunately, their sexual compatibility is off the charts, and the novel is very steamy. On the way to the HEA, Phoebe begins to recognize that the person she'd become before the accident was on the wrong path. This was a good novel that treated the situation with the gravity it deserved. The author brought you into the hearts of the MCs in a way that resonated.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2025Excellent book. Lots of smiles and some tears too. Rafe was amazing. Showed his patience and love for Phoebe while she recovered from a serious head injury. So many loving people added to this story. Some really good sex scenes for those sensitive to such scenes.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2018I won't go into the plot; other reviewers have done an ample job with that. This book is a rather odd mixture of sweet and steamy, as though the author couldn't quite decide which it should be. Rafe and Phoebe are both sweet, likable characters, especially Rafe, who is almost too perfect to be real. And Phoebe--poor Phoebe, who can't remember anything from the past eight years but is somehow tormented by a hidden secret that Rafe and her family (also very sweet) are determined to keep from her.
Anyway, Rafe is determined to make her fall in love with him again before their wedding, just 10 days away, even though she doesn't remember him at all. She also remembers nothing about sex. This is where things get steamy. For two-thirds of the book, Rafe and Phoebe are either thinking about sex, talking about sex or engaging in sex. I've got nothing against sex, but I was hoping for something more in the way of a plot.
The last third was better, when the big secret (not really all that big) is revealed in a rather dramatic scene (followed by more sex). The story concludes with the obligatory Happily Ever After wedding (and more sex). We all knew it would end with a wedding, of course, thanks to the title and cover art. I did appreciate the professional editing and proofreading; not a single typo or misspelled word in the entire book.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2018Phoebe Goldsmith is getting married in just over a week. But she has a problem in that she cannot remember anything about the last several years, including her fiancé. Phoebe received a head injury as a result of an accident which has left her with amnesia and she cannot remember the last several years. She has no memory past her years at university.
Her fiancé, Rafe Masters, is a firefighter and wants them to be married on their planned wedding date in just ten days. Her family is against this since they think she should wait until her memory comes back, even if it never comes back.
Phoebe and her sister, plus their mom, own a shop up in the Northland called Bay of Islands where she and her sister create and sew exquisite one of a kind wedding dresses. But she doesn’t remember that either.
Rafe insists that Phoebe recuperates from her injury with him since they had been living together prior to her injury. And he thinks it is his best chance to win her back.
Their relationship was having some issues and you are left wondering up until the end who is responsible for the issues. Although using amnesia as a plot point does seem tried and tired, Ms. Woods manages to use it as a plot mechanism that moves the story along and makes you think about what you would do in the same place.
The relationship between Race and Phoebe is one that is loving and caring. I did not want this book to end since I want to see what happens next.
I did receive a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair, unbiased review. Although to be completely honest, I do pre-order her books as soon as it is possible. I think I have not read 2 or 3 of her novels that she has written. And I am working on making sure that the list is 100% read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A second chance to get it right
You wake from a coma to find out it's 2018 and your last memory was 10 years ago. You've been in an accident and your solicitous family are being somewhat cagey around you. Then there's the fact that you have a gorgeous fiance and are due to be married in 10 days time. Only trouble is you don't know this man.
I love Serenity Woods' romances. This is the first of a Brides series and promises to be as good as her previous works. Great love stories with a nice bit of naughty spice.

A really good read. So well written. The character's come alive
. Made me think how I would cope in a situation thrust upon me as hers was. So easy to find yourself in a situation So never take anything for granted and live each day to the full

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read
This is a standalone romance novel with a HEA that forms part of a series with overlapping characters. This is one of the better stories by this author. For me it dropped a star as it didn't feel like a totally original plot, I think I've seen a film with a similar storyline? Also the focus seems very much on the sexual side of their relationship, although Rafe is very caring and considerate after her accident. The big reveal is swiftly done and the twist not unexpected.
